DESIGN FOR A PLOWSHARE.
SPECIFICATION formingpart of Design No. 26,906, dated April 13, 1897.
Applicatio fil d December 4, 1896. Serial No. 614,495. Term of patent 14 years.
Be it known that I, \YRLLINUTUN MILLS, a citizen of the linited States, and a resident of Shiloh, county of Riehland, State of Ohio,
5 havein vented certain new and usefuIDesigns for Plowshares, of which I herehy declare the following to be a full, clear, and exactdescription, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
Figure 1 is a perspective view of the under side ofa plowshare, showing my design. Figs. 2 and 3 are transverse sections upon lines a a and I) 1), showing additional features of the I5 design, these three views being deemed essential to fully illustrate my design.
The leading feature of my design isa curved plowshare, along the bottom edge of which from the heel to a point near the front extends the narrow surface 1.
The surface is terminated on the inner edge by a vertical face 2, forming a right; angle therewith, and a curved surface 9 limits the outer edge, as clearly shown in the sectional figures. The raised surtare is not. parallel with the inner surface 5 of the share, but formsaslightelevatiou ofahoutone-sixteenth of an inch at the outer extremity 4-, and it diminishes to nothing at the front ext reiuityfi, and merges into the surfartof the share in the form of a wedge.
The front edge of the share is also provided with the narrow raised surface 6, terminated on one side by a vertical plane 7 and on the outer edge by the curved plane 8. Thus the share presents a sharp angular edge in front and side. In other respects the share is shaped in the usual manner.
