No. 19,231. Patented July 23, 1889.
W] T JVE SSE S .lttarney UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
DANIEL I. JEFFERIES AND JAMES G. RODGERS, OF SPRINGFIELD, ()IIIO, ASSIGNORS TO THE TRIClYCLE MANUFACTURING COMPANY, OF SAME PLACE.
DESIGN FOR A BABY-CARRIAGE BODY.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 19,231, dated July 23, 1889. Application filed December 3,1888. Serial No.292,534. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that we, DANIEL I. J EFFERIES and JAMES G. RODGERS, citizens of the United States, residing at Springfield, in the county of Clark and State of Ohio, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Baby-Carriage Bodies, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part thereof.
Figure 1 illustrates a side elevation of ababycarriage body showing our design; Fig. 2, a front view of the same, and Fig. 3 a rear view thereof.
The leading feature of our design consists of panels having a surface ornamentation composed of figures raised or in relief, and of open-work; and such feature also consists of the panel or panels having surface ornamentation so composed of figures raised or in relief.
The letter A designates a side of a babycarriage body, and the letters B and G the front and rear thereof, respectively. The sides are composed of open-work D, as illustrated, in which E designates the serpentine rail, curved into substantially semicircular form at the ends and embellished at the upper, forward, and rear extremities with curved branches F, terminating in the scrolls G and II, with the intermediate connecting-bars I and rings J. At intermediate points of the side are posts K and rounds L. Within the loop portion of the rail is a second rail M, and in the intermediate space are ribs N, and in the area within the rail M is the fanciful scroll-work O. The surface ornamentation is composed of a panel I, ornamented with figures in relief. These figures are typical of flowers or flowers and geometrical figures. In Fig. 1 the panel P is also shown with raised ribs Q, to add to the effect of the ornamentation. Between the panel and the surround ing portion of the rail E appear the scrollribs R. Figs. 1 and 2 respectively show the front and rear of the body.
Having thus fully described our invention, what we claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
l. The design of a baby-carriage body, substantially as herein described and shown.
2. In a design for a baby-carriage body, a panel, substantially as herein shown and described.
In testimony whereof we afiix our signatures in the presence of two witnesses.
DANIEL P. JEFFERIES.
