D'ESIG N. No. 33,|49. Patented Aug. 28, I900. O

HEATING STUVE.
(Application filed July so, 1900.
. UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
HENRY P. corn, or DETROIT, MICHIGAN, ASSIGNOR TO THE GEM CITY STOVE COMPANY, OF DAYTON, OHIO.
DESIGN FOR A HEATING-STOVE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 33,149, dated August 28,1900,
I Applicatlon filed July 30, 1900- Serial No. 25,368. Term of patent 7 years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, HENRY P. COPE, a citizen of the United States, residing at Detroit, in the county of Wayne and State of Michigan, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Heating-Stove; and I do declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, refence being had to the accompanying draw ing, and to the letters of reference marked thereon, which forms a part of this specification.
The drawing is a perspective View of a StOX'Q, showing my design.
The leading features of my design consist of the particular shape and surface embellishments or ornamentations of the different castings which contribute to the ornamental aspect of the stove as a whole.
The base or ash-pit section of the stove is divided into two distinct portions G and G, both of which have surface ornamentations in the nature of scrollwork B. These two portions of the base are separated by a distinct bar B. The lower front portion A of said base is provided with extended scrollwork in the form of convoluted figures or scrolls B of distinct appearance. The feet 0 are provided with surface ornamentations consisting of irregular figures or small scrollwork. Each side of each of said feet is inclosed by the distinctive scrolls B. The ashbox door has two large concentric scrolls E, which inclose an oblong ornamental panel F, in the center of which the damper is located. The remaining portions of said door-panel, or
those portions adjacent to the ends and surrounding the scrollwork, have a more or less undulating surface. The foot-rail H, surrounding the lower portion of the body of the stove, has an outward curvature from top to bottom and consists of elongated scrollwork H. The branches of said scrollwork spread in opposite directions and inclose a front centerpiece, the said front centerpiece consisting of an oval figure I, which incloses a check work design. The said foot-rail is supported on the base by ornamental brackets J. The body K has a plain surface, with the excep=- tion of the upper and lower ends, which are provided with a series of corrugations L, extending therearound. The name-plate M is provided with a surface in representation of oak, surrounding which is a series of scrolls N of more or less variation of shape. The ornamental top of the stove consists of a plain annular band 0, the outer surface of which is rounded or convexed. This band 0 is surmounted with a dome or cap consisting of two sections P and Q, which are detached, and each of which has surface ornamentations consisting of large scrollwork, the predominating features of which are indicated by the letters P and Q.
I claim- The design for a heating-stove substantially as herein shown and described.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
HENRY P. COPE.
