DESIGN FOR A SIDEBOARD OR SIMILAR ARTICLE.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 35,946, dated June 10, 1902.

Be it known that I, MARTIN V. I-IAMMACK, a citizen of the United States,residing at Thalia, in the county of Princess Anne and State of irginia, have invented a certain new and useful Design for Sideboards or Similar Articles, of which the following is a specification.

My said invention consists of a design for sideboards or like articles of furniture, which will be ornamental and attractive.

The accompanying drawing shows a sideboard of my improved design in front elevation.

The front of the doors d of the cabinets and of the drawers cl are ornamented by representations of a star, those on said doors being a double star or a star within a star. The upper portion is provided with uprights u for the shelves 3 and s, which are ornamented with stars. The central part of said upper portion is provided with a mirror on within a circular frame or representation of a frame f. The main part of the surface of the back surrounding said mirrorserves as a suitable background, and a segment-shaped strip within the lines I represents a rainbow, while above the shelf 8 the surface of the upper portion is ornamented with a star at each corner and a circle with radiating lines representing the sun in the middle. The mirror on has a plain 3o circular center surrounded by a line made up of short curves meeting at points which extend outwardly, which is surrounded by an angular line the points of which extend outwardly, from which points said lines run in- 35 wardly and meet midway between the points of the inner line. The spaces bounded by these lines are distinguished from the rest of the surface in any approved manner.

The points surrounding the mirror are in- 40 dieative of a star, carrying out the idea of making the star the leading characteristic of the design.

Having thus fully described my said invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure 45 by Letters Patent, is-- The design for a sideboard, or similar article, substantially as herein shown and described.
