Although intended principally for the purpose of displaying anatomical charts, it is obvious that the portfolio is equally applicable to the display of many other objects, and is not limited to this particular one. I therefore do not wish to be understood as limiting .myself strictly to the precise details of construction hereinbefore described and shown inthe drawings.
I am aware of Letters Patent No. 274,629, granted March 27. 1883, to M. A. Morrill, and I do not wish to be understood as claiming` anything set forth in said Letters Patent.

l. A convertible portfolio and stand cousisting ot' two main leaves hinged to each other, anda flap hinged to one of the xnain leaves and adapted to forni a base or support to said leaves and to fold over the free end of the other leaf, substantially as and for thepurposes specified.
2. In a convertible portfolio and stand, the combination of the two leaves hinged to each other, and a flap hinged to one of the leaves, the said llap and the other leaf being provided with catches, whereby the whole may beloeked in position either as a stand or portfolio, substantially as and for the purposes specified.
3. In a convertible portfolio and stand, the combination, with the main leaves A and B,of the flap C, hinged to the leafB, and eonstructed in two er more sections hinged to each other, substantially as and for the purposes specified.
4t. In a convertible portfolio and stand, the combination, with the main leaves A and B, hinged together at a, of the flap C, hinged to the leaf Il, and composed of the sections c, c', and c2, and adapted to be connected to the leaf A, substantially as and for the purposes speciiied.
5. In a convertible portfolio and stand. the combination, with the main leaves A and B, the former provided with two catches, Aand A2, arranged as describef'hof thellap G, hinged to the leat' B, and provided with a tongue, C', to engage the said catches, substantially as and for the purposes specified.
