m. v.- HAMMACK. BUREAU on SIMILAR ARTICLE (Application filed Feb. 14. 1902') UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
MARTIN V. HAMMAOK, OF THALIA, VIRGINIA, ASSIGNOR OF ONE-HALF TO OEPHUS O. GRIMES, OF PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA.
DESIGN FOR A BUREAU OR SIMILAR ARTICLE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 35,948, dated June 10, 1902.
Application filed February 14, 1902. Serial No. 94,124. Term of patent 1 2 years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, MARTIN V. HAMMACK, a
citizen of the United States, residing at Thalia, in the county of Princess Anne and State of Virginia, have invented and produced a certain new and useful Design for a Bureau or Similar Article, of which the following is a specification.
My said invention consists in a design for a bureau or dresser, whereby a very attractive and ornamental piece of furniture of such character is provided.
The accompanying drawing, on which similar letters of reference indicate similar parts, illustrates the front elevation of a bureau of my design.
Said design has a star for its leading characteristic. The mirror-surface M is in the form of a star. The lower portion has a door D, the front of which is ornamented with a star. On each side is a row of small drawers,
the front of each of which is likewise ornamented by a star F.
On the top of the mirror-frame I provide an ornament at each corner in the form of a star and in the center an ornament in the form of a crescent or moon.
The design is highly ornamental and attractive and may be utilized in other articles of furniture of similar character, such as chifonniers, washstands, cabinets, hall-racks, &c.
Having thus fully described my said invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The design for a bureau or similar article substantially as herein shown and described.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal, at Washington, District of Columbia, this 24111 day of January, A. D. 1902.
