My design is fully shown in the accompanying photograph.
In this design thc frame, the basket, the crown-piece, and the fender nre especia-ily designed to go together in the production ot' an artistic elicct. The lire-place frumc has ao outer plain su rtiicc, a, nud inner surface, b.\\'ith n beaded edge. Abcthcre is n molded design consisting ot' ostrngal orntuncnts. The fue pince t'rznne has moldings und n. plain base ntd. The moldings c pass across thc frame. 'lhe upper portion ot' the tronic is ornumcntcd hy convoluted stems, loaves, and tlowersin rclief upon the panels. The ornaments in the punelsfnnd f' are alike, und ing and q' they nrc alike. All t-hese panels have n background in imitation of hnnnncred or st-ipplcd work, und upon this background are the raised fioricnllurnl designs consisting ofstcmsdenves, tiowcrs, and buds, ns shown. Bclowthc moldings e the panels i i are divided by pee pcudicular and cross ribs into squares, in which squares there are qunrtcrloil ornaments with central buttons.
The design for the basket; portion consists of the molded top ruil, k, and the oi'namental bottom rail, I, and the perpendicular bora mi, having leaf und rosette designs, as shown.
The design for the crown-piece consists of the pluin upper rail, n, the cross-grooved base. o, and end piccesbctiwccn which there are panel ornaments consisting of stems and leaves in serpentine forni ot'. o', with n. shell medallion nt p.
