SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 320,644, dated lune 23, 1885.
Application tiled May 5, 1835. (No model.)
To @ZZ whom it may concern:
Be it known thatl, EMIL FILLMANN, a citizen of the United States of America, residing at Chicago, in the county of Cook and State of Illinois, have invented certain newand useful Improvements in Moldings, of which the following is a specification, reference being had therein to the accompanying drawing.
My invention relates to an improved ornamental molding.
The object of the invention is to cheapen the cost of certain styles of such moldings, and also to lessen the amount of labor necessary for such manufacture.
To the accomplishment of the above the invention consistsin formingonepart ofthe molding of suitable ornamentations formed of what is known to the trade as metal-leaf, and in forming the other part of the molding of a series of pearls made of silver leaf lacquered.
Reference will be made to the drawing, in which is represent-ed, in perspective, a section of molding embodying my invention.
A represents the wooden base, and B the metallized portion of the molding, such metal leaf being formed int-o suitable ornamentations, as may be desi'ed.
The term metal leaf, as herein used, will be understood to be the term used by the trade to distinguish bronze compositions and other such compositions from the gold and silver leaf.
C represents a series of pearls which form part of the ornamental molding, such pearls being formed or made ofsilver leaf lacquered.
It will be understood that I do not wish to claim the use of metal leaf in forming moldings; nor do I wish to claim the use of silver leaf in the manufacture of moldings or other ornaments, as each has been utilized before; but
Burnished pearls made of silver leaf, lacquered, in combination with ornamented metallized moldings, as set forth.
