HENRY HUNT, OF GREEN VILLE, NEW JERSEY, ASSIGNOR TO THE HARTFORD CARPET COMPANY, OF HARTFORD, CONNECTICUT.
DESIGN FOR A CARPET.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 14,887, dated March 18, 1884.
Application filed January 98,1884. Term of patent 31} years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, HENRY Hoxr, of Greenville, in the State of New Jersey, have invented a new and original Design for Carpets. of which the following is a specification, ref erence being had to the accompanying photograph, which forms a part of the same.
The invention relates to a design to be worked into or upon surfaces, such as carpets or similar fabrics; and it consists in the novel eonfigura-tion and grouping of figures herein specifically shown and claimed.
The accompanying photograph isafaceview of a carpet showing my new design.
The group A is shown at the right center and at the left upper and lower corners of the photograph. It consists of a central massof flowers and leaves over an ornamental-border work. Openleaf sprays project on all sides.
The group B-is shown at the upper and lower parts of the photograph. It consists of ascalloped ornamention under a. large flower and leaf mass, having blossom and leaf sprays projecting on all sides.
The group C is shown at the leil; center and at the right upper and lower corners of the photograph. mented panels, one partly overlying the other, both surrounded by leaf masses with projecting leaf and flower stems.
Various smaller groups and figures complete the design as shown in the photograph.
The design for a carpet, consisting of the groups A B C and the intervening groups and figures, substantially as shown and described.
