DESIGN FOR A CARPET.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 13,738, dated March 20, 1883. Application filed February 14, 1853. Term of patent 3; years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, JAMES L. FOLSOM, of Brooklyn, in the county of Kings and State of New York, have invented a new and original Design for Carpets, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to a. new and original design for carpets and similar fabrics; and it consists in the novel grouping and configuration of figures hereinafter more fully described.
The accompanying photograph illustrates a face view of a carpet having my new design.
The ground a is filled in with small rectangular and other ornaments, promineutamong which is the Greek letter in various forms, near the large flower groups. Upon this ground are disposed four flower groups, A, B, C, and D, consisting, as shown in the photograph, of various central groups of leaves" and open flowers, with projecting blossom and leaf sprays jutting out loosely over the ground between the central mass of the various groups.
