Description

Oct 20,1??0 194 UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
EDUARD LEISSNER, OF N EVV YORK, N. Y., ASSIGNOR TO LEISSNER 8t LOUIS, OF SAME PLACE.
DESIGN FOR WALL-PAPER.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 11,994, dated October 26, 1880.
Application filed July 31, 1880. Term of patent 3} years.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, EDUARD LEISSNER, of New York, in the city and county of New York, have invented a new and original Design for 5 Fall-Paper, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to a newand original design for wall-paper and similar fabrics.
It consists in a novel grouping and contig- 1o uratiou of figures hereinafter more fully described.
The accompanying photograph illustrates a face view of wall'paper having my new design.
:5 The design consists in a vine bearing leaves, buds, and flowers of peculiar forms. It is shown in the photograph as applied to a border and as running between two parallel stripes.
A AArepresent the main stalk of the vine,
which runs in long semicircular curves, leaving spaces alternately above and below the stalk. From this stalk A branches off up ward a flower-like figure, B, which occupies 15 one of the spaces above the stalk, and a similar figure, B, branches off downward below the stalk into the open space which comes next and which lies below the stalk A. Thus the flowers B and B alternate with each other,
0 the flowers B occupying all the open spaces above the stalk A, and the flowers B those below the stalk. These flowers B and B con sist of a thistle-shaped center surrounded by oval diverging leaves. From the stalk A, be
tween the flowers B and B, branches off the 5 flower-like figure C, with a heart-shaped center. around which is a row of oval leaves, which are, in turn, surrounded by heartshaped leaves. The buds a b d branch 01f from the stem A near this point and appear 40 around the flower G. A flower, D, branches ofl' from the stalk A between the figures B and B, the flowers U and D alternating upon the stalk. The flower D has a starshaped center projecting from a leaf-like cup, and the three buds e m g, growing on the stem A, appear around it.
I claim- 1. The design for wall-paper, consisting of hlIBflOWBDllliE figure B, substantially as shown.
2. The design for wall-paper, consisting of the flower-like figure U, substantially as shown.
3. The design for wall-paper, consisting of the stalk A, with flowers B B thereupon, substantially as shown. 5 5
4. The design for wall-paper, consisting of the stalk A, with flowers O thereupon, substantially as shown.
5. The design for wall-paper, consisting of the stalk A and flowers D thereon, substan- 6o tially as shown.
6. The design for wall-paper, consisting of the stalk A and flowers B, B, G, and D, substantially as shown.
EDUARD LEISSNER.
