Description

輸入裝置及其製造方法
本發明係關於一種與液晶顯示器等組合使用之輸入裝置(觸控面板)及其製造方法。
例如專利文獻1所示,觸控面板具有透明之表層面板(透明基板23)、形成於表層面板下之裝飾區域之裝飾層(遮光層24)、形成於表層面板及裝飾層之下表面整個區域之透明之平坦化層(保護塗層25)、及形成於上述平坦化層之下表面之透明電極(透明導電層26)等。
於專利文獻1中,對感光性之丙烯酸系樹脂等透明之樹脂進行旋塗而形成平坦化層。
然而,於如此以旋塗而成之樹脂層形成平坦化層之構成中,尤其會因表層面板與裝飾層之間之階差等而使得平坦化層之平坦化度降低,因此,存在無法將透明電極形成為平坦化面而感測靈敏度降低之問題。
又,雖然於專利文獻1中對輸入裝置之製造方法無特別具體之記載,但由於必需使用於玻璃之經單片化之表層面板上積層裝飾層、平坦化層及透明電極之製造製程,故存在生產率低且各觸控面板間之品質不均變大之問題。
另外,於製造製程中欲採用卷對卷方式之情形時,於專利文獻1之構成中,無法於表層面板中使用玻璃,或者即便使用玻璃,亦由於表層面板與裝飾層之密接性或之後進行單片化而玻璃之材質受限制,從而產生無法使用強化玻 璃等之不良情況。
於專利文獻2所記載之觸控面板中,於表層面板(單一基板11)下之裝飾區域積層裝飾層(遮罩層12)、平坦化層(平滑層15)及透明電極(感測電路13),因而亦產生與上述專利文獻1同樣之問題。

因此,本發明係為解決上述先前之課題者,其目的在於提供一種尤其可藉由卷對卷方式製造且具備良好之感測靈敏度之薄型之輸入裝置及其製造方法。
本發明之輸入裝置之特徵在於包含:可撓性之透明基材;透明電極,其形成於上述透明基材之第一面;裝飾層,其形成於上述透明基材之相對於上述第一面為相反側之第二面;以及透明面板,其於上述透明基材之上述第二面側經由光學透明黏著層而與上述透明基材貼合。
另外,本發明之輸入裝置之製造方法之特徵在於包含下述步驟:一面以卷對卷搬送可撓性之透明基材,一面於上述透明基材之第一面上形成透明電極,且於上述透明基材之與第 一面為相反側之第二面上形成裝飾層;將形成有上述透明電極及上述裝飾層之上述透明基材單片化;以及於經單片化之各透明基材之第二面側經由光學透明黏著層貼合透明面板。
於本發明中,能夠以卷對卷方式將裝飾層及透明電極分別形成於透明基材之平坦化面(第一面與第二面)上,且能夠生產率良好地形成具有良好之感測靈敏度之輸入裝置。又,藉由採用將透明面板經由光學透明黏著層貼合於透明基材之構成,能夠消除對於透明面板之材質之限制,從而能夠兼備高生產率及對於透明面板之材質之高自由度。
於本發明中,可於上述第一面設置覆蓋上述透明電極之表面之透明保護層。由此能夠適當保護透明電極。
又,於本發明中,可由一層結構構成上述透明電極。由此,能夠促進輸入裝置之薄型。
又,於本發明中,對材質沒有特別限制,可適用強化玻璃等玻璃面板。
又,於本發明中,上述透明基材可使用PET(Polyethylene Terephthalate,聚對苯二甲酸乙二酯)膜。由此,可廉價地製造輸入裝置,並且,可適合適用於卷對卷方式。
根據發明之輸入裝置及其製造方法,可藉由卷對卷方式將裝飾層及透明電極分別形成於透明基材之平坦化面(第 一面與第二面)上,且能夠生產率良好地形成具有良好之感測靈敏度之輸入裝置。
圖1係本實施形態中之靜電電容式之觸控面板(輸入裝置)之俯視圖,圖2係沿著圖1所示之A-A線切斷而自箭頭方向觀察到之觸控面板之縱剖面圖。
觸控面板1具有可撓性之透明基材2、裝飾層3、透明電極4及玻璃面板5等而構成。此處,「透明」、「透光性」係指可見光線透過率為60%以上(較佳為80%以上)之狀態。進而,較佳為霧度值為6以下。
可撓性之透明基材2中例如較佳為適用PET膜。於透明基材2之下表面(第一面)2a形成有透明電極4。如圖1所示,透明電極4形成於觸控面板1之透明輸入區域1a。透明輸入區域1a設置於觸控面板1之中央之大範圍內。於本實施形態中,雖然透明輸入區域1a由矩形形狀構成,但對形狀並無限定。
如圖1所示,透明電極4分別以分離形成之第一透明電極4a與第二透明電極4b為一組,沿Y方向隔開間隔形成有複數組。於本實施形態中,未限定第一透明電極4a及第二透明電極4b之各自形狀,但此處第一透明電極4a及第二透明電極4b以Y方向上之寬度尺寸朝向X方向變化之方式形成。
透明電極4藉由濺射或蒸鍍ITO(Indium Tin Oxide,氧化銦錫)等透明導電材料而成膜,並利用光微影技術進行圖 案形成,從而形成為圖1所示之形狀。
如圖1所示,配線層6自各第一透明電極4a及各第二透明電極4b之X方向之端部延伸出而形成。
如圖1所示,配線層6延伸形成於包圍透明輸入區域1a之周圍之裝飾區域1b內。如後述般,因於裝飾區域1b中形成有裝飾層3,故實際上無法如圖1所示般自觸控面板1之操作面9側觀察到配線層6,但於圖1中,將裝飾層3透視而圖示出配線層6。
如圖2所示,於配線層6之形成位置設置有包含與透明電極4相同之透明導電材料之透明導電層4c,於該透明導電層4c之表面(於圖2中為下表面)形成有配線層6。透明導電層4c係於對透明電極4進行蝕刻而使其圖案化時殘留於與配線層6重疊之位置上者。再者,亦可以不形成透明導電層4c,而將配線層6同樣形成於與透明電極4之透明基材2之下表面(第一面)2a。
配線層6含有Ag、Cu、Cu合金、Al、Mo、CuNi合金、Ni等金屬材料而形成,例如印刷Ag膏而形成。
如圖1所示,各配線層6於裝飾區域1b內繞接而集中於與可撓性印刷基板(未圖示)連接之部分。各配線層6之前端構成與可撓性印刷基板(未圖示)電連接之外部連接部6a。
又,如圖2所示,於透明電極4及配線層6之下表面設置有透明保護層8。藉由透明保護層8可保護透明電極4及配線層6。但是,透明保護層8未設置於圖1所示之外部連接部6a之位置上,從而可使外部連接部6a與可撓性印刷基板 連接。
透明保護層8例如為於較薄之PET基材之表面上形成有丙烯酸胺基甲酸酯樹脂等硬質塗層之硬質塗層膜(透明保護層),將透明保護層8經由未圖示光學透明黏著層(OCA(Optical Clear Adhesive,光學膠))而貼合於透明電極4及配線層6之下表面。
如圖2所示,於透明基材2之上表面(第二面)2b形成有色之裝飾層3。裝飾層3形成於包圍透明輸入區域1a周圍之裝飾區域1b。裝飾層3例如藉由網版印刷而形成。形成有裝飾層3之裝飾區域1b為非透光性,透明輸入區域1a為透光性。藉此,配線層6因裝飾層3而無法自操作面9側觀察到。
如圖2所示,於透明基材2之第二面2b側經由光學透明黏著層10而貼合有玻璃面板(透明面板)5。光學透明黏著層(OCA)10為丙烯酸系黏著劑、雙面黏著帶等。
圖2所示之玻璃面板5係位於觸控面板1之表層,其表面成為操作面9。當操作者例如使手指接觸或接近到操作面9上時,與接近手指之第一透明電極4a之間及與接近手指之第二透明電極4b之間之靜電電容發生變化。並且,可基於該靜電電容變化算出手指之操作位置。
玻璃面板5未限定為平板狀,亦可為彎曲之形狀等。另外,亦可為玻璃以外之透明面板,透明面板亦可構成框體之一部分。
圖3至圖6係表示本實施形態之觸控面板1之製造方法之 步驟圖。
如圖3(模式圖)所示,將由PET膜等構成之可撓性之透明基材11形成為卷狀,由卷對卷(Roll to Roll)將透明基材11向各步驟搬送。
首先,於圖3所示之箭頭(1)之步驟中,藉由濺射或蒸鍍將ITO等透明導電材料成膜於透明基材11之第一面11a上。繼而,將於整面形成有透明導電膜之透明基材11向下一步驟搬送,於箭頭(2)之步驟中,利用光微影技術對圖1所示之形狀之透明電極4進行圖案形成。於(1)步驟與(2)步驟之間、或於(2)步驟之後,對配線層6進行網版印刷。於(1)步驟與(2)步驟之間形成配線層6之情形時,將配線層6形成於透明導電膜表面,並藉由(2)步驟之光微影技術,可保留與配線層6重疊之透明導電層4c(參照圖2)。
繼而,將形成有透明電極4及配線層6之透明基材11向下一步驟搬送,於箭頭(3)之步驟中,將於較薄之PET基材之表面形成有丙烯酸胺基甲酸酯樹脂等硬質塗層之硬質塗層膜(透明保護層)13貼合於上述透明電極4及配線層6之表面。
於圖3中,藉由連續之一次卷對卷進行(1)~(3)之各步驟,但亦可按各步驟(1)~(3)捲繞透明基材11,分別由卷對卷進行各步驟(1)~(3)。
於將實施了圖3之各步驟(1)~(3)之透明基材11捲繞之後,於圖4中,再次由卷對卷(Roll to Roll)將透明基材11向各步驟搬送。
此次對透明基材11之第二面11b實施箭頭(4)、(5)所示之各步驟。
首先,於箭頭(4)之步驟中,將裝飾層3網版印刷於透明基材11之第二面11b。如圖1、圖2中所說明般,將裝飾層3印刷形成於裝飾區域1b。
繼而,將形成有裝飾層3之透明基材11向下一步驟搬送,於箭頭(5)之步驟中,例如將包含雙面黏著帶14之光學透明黏著層(OCA)貼合於裝飾層3之表面及透明基材11之透明輸入區域上之整個區域。因於雙面黏著帶14之表面(外側之面)上存在剝離片,故能夠將貼合有雙面黏著帶14之透明基材11捲繞。
亦可將藉由一次之卷對卷進行全部之圖3和圖4之各步驟,於為多次之卷對卷之情形時,能夠任意決定自哪一步驟到哪一步驟為一次量之卷對卷。
又,亦可先進行圖4之步驟,之後進行圖3之步驟。
如圖5所示,於呈帶狀之長透明基材11之第一面11a側具有與複數個觸控面板1對應之複數組透明電極4及配線層6、及設置於第一面11a之整個區域上之透明保護層13,於第二面11b側具有與複數個觸控面板1對應之複數組裝飾層3、及設置於第二面11b之整個區域上之雙面黏著帶(光學透明黏著層)14。
於圖5所示之步驟(局部縱剖面圖)中,將呈帶狀之長透明基材11沿著虛線切斷而單片化為各透明基材2。
並且,如圖6所示,於各透明基材2之第二面2b側經由光 學透明黏著層10而貼合玻璃面板5。
於本實施形態中,如上述所示,能夠由卷對卷方式將裝飾層3及透明電極4分別形成於透明基材2之平坦化面(第一面2a及第二面2b)上,並且能夠生產率良好地形成具有良好之感測靈敏度之觸控面板1。另外,藉由成為將位於表層之透明面板經由光學透明黏著層10貼合於透明基材2上之構成,而可消除對於透明面板之材質之限制,從而能夠兼具高生產率及對於透明面板之材質之高自由度。
於本實施形態中,透明面板可自由地選擇強化玻璃等玻璃面板5。又,即便透明面板為彎曲之形狀,亦可將具有由卷對卷方式形成之裝飾層3及透明電極4之透明基材11容易地貼合於透明面板上。
又,於本實施形態中,透明基材2可使用廉價且適合卷對卷之PET膜。
於本實施形態中,如圖7所示,可採用隔著透明絕緣層17而積層兩層之透明電極15、16之積層結構。此時,例如透明電極15由朝向X方向延伸出且於Y方向上隔開間隔之複數根構成,透明電極16由朝向Y方向延伸出且於X方向上隔開間隔之複數根構成。
但是,於本實施形態中,如圖1、圖2所示,可由單層結構構成透明電極4,由此可促進觸控面板1之薄型化,從而較佳。
本實施形態中之觸控面板1為靜電電容式,於觸控面板1之下表面側配置有液晶顯示器(LCD,Liquid Crystal Display)(未圖示)。自觸控面板1之透明輸入區域1a能夠觀察到液晶顯示器之顯示形態,並且,於本實施形態中,能夠邊觀察於透明輸入區域1a顯現出之顯示形態邊進行輸入操作。

Claims (8)

  1. 一種觸控面板型輸入裝置之製造方法,其特徵在於包含下述步驟:一面以卷對卷之方式搬送可撓性之單層透明基材,一面於上述透明基材之第一面上形成透明電極與配線層,此時,將上述透明電極形成於透明輸入區域,將上述配線層從上述透明電極的端部延伸出而形成於包圍上述透明輸入區域之周圍之上述第一面側之裝飾區域內,且於上述透明基材之與第一面為相反側之第二面的上述裝飾區域形成裝飾層;將形成有上述透明電極及上述裝飾層之上述透明基材單片化;以及於經單片化之各透明基材之第二面側,經由光學透明黏著層,以上述透明基材和與相對於上述光學透明黏著層之面為相反側之表面作為操作面之上述透明面板之間由上述光學透明黏著層所充填之方式貼合,且依照上述透明基材、上述裝飾層、上述光學透明黏著層、上述透明面板的順序層疊。
  2. 如請求項1之觸控面板型輸入裝置之製造方法,其中包含下述步驟:於形成上述透明電極之後,於上述第一面側形成覆蓋上述透明電極之表面之透明保護層。
  3. 如請求項2之觸控面板型輸入裝置之製造方法,其中將形成有硬質塗層的硬質塗層膜作為上述透明保護層而貼付於上述透明電極及上述配線層的表面。
  4. 如請求項1至3中任一項之觸控面板型輸入裝置之製造方法,其中將包含與上述透明電極相同透明導電材料的透明導電層自上述透明電極的端部連續形成於上述裝飾區域,將上述配線層形成於上述透明導電層的表面。
  5. 如請求項1至3中任一項之觸控面板型輸入裝置之製造方法,其中將上述透明電極與玻璃面板貼合。
  6. 如請求項1至3中任一項之觸控面板型輸入裝置之製造方法,其中於上述透明基材使用PET膜。
  7. 如請求項4之輸入裝置之觸控面板型製造方法,其中於上述透明基材使用PET膜。
  8. 如請求項1至3中任一項之觸控面板型輸入裝置之製造方法,其中將上述輸入裝置構成為靜電電容式之觸控面板。
