Abstract

En fremgangsmåte for separasjon av polyhydroksyalkanoat (A) fra en biomasse omfattende PHA, idet fremgangsmåten omfatter: (a) behandling av biomassen med et PHA løsningsmiddel og et marginalt ikke-løsningsmiddel for PHA, (b) fjerning av enhver uoppløselig biomasse med oppnåelse av en oppløsning av Pog marginalt ikke-løsningsmiddel for PHA, og (c) fjerning av PHA løsningsmiddelet fra oppløsningen for derved å oppnå en suspensjon av presipitert PHA i det marginale ikke-løsnings-middel for PHA. Fremgangsmåten omfatter eventuelt videre fjerning av det marginale ikke-løsningsmiddel for PHA for derved å etterlate PHA. En suspensjon og PHA fremstilt ved fremgangsmåten er også beskrevet.
