Abstract

En onsker å oppnå hensiktsmessig temperaturpåvirkning på ei blokk som er klar for ekstrudering, slik at denne gis en bestemt temperaturprofil, som gjor ekstruderingsprosessen opptimal. Det;e skjer ved at metallblokkene (lOa) som skal ekstruderes blir oppvarmet til en ekstrudcringstemperatur som er høvelig for metallet (ovn 2), holdt i forråd (varmholdekammer 3) og utsatt for en hurtig avkjøling (kammer 5) som er oppdelt i reguleringssoner (18), idet reguleringen av sonene (18) skjer på en slik måle ved påvirkning av kjolemiddclmengdcn og/eller kjolemiddelteMiperaturen og/eller kjolcvarigheten, at følgende oppnås: at det dannes en temperaturfordeling i blokka i aksial og radial relning, som under hensyntagen til metallets varmcledningsevne, varmebongangen til den aktuelle rcstblokka, til blokkopptakeren og til pressverktøyet (stempel, matrise) og blokkoppvarmingen ved utviklet omformingsvarme og (i den utstrekning det er aktuelt, dvs. ved direkte ekslrudering) pga. en friksjon mellom blokka og opptakeren, tillater en isoterm ekstrudering ved optimal ekstruderingshastighet.
