Abstract
Det omtales en aldoliserings- og dehydratiserings- prosess for å omdanne et aldehyd, f.eks. n-valeraldehyd, til et substituert akrolein, f.eks. propylbutylakrolein(2- propylhept-2-enal) . Aldoliseringen og dehydratiseringen gjennomføres i en omrørbar tankreaktor (16, 111) under anvendelse av en alkalisk katalysator, såsom natrium- hydroksid. En reaksjons-produktstrøm (23, 113) som inne- holder både organiske og vandige faser destilleres (i kolonnen 25, 123) for å frembringe en heterogen azeotrop inneholdende vann og aldehyd. Ved kondensering og fase- separasjon kan det nedre vannsjikt (34, 150) avledes fra anlegget uten behov for nøytralisering. Fra bunnen av destillasjonssonen oppnås det en blanding (36, 157) av substituert akrolein- og alkalikatalysatorløsning. Det substituerte akrolein gjenvinnes som produktet (45, 173), mens katalysatorløsningen (47, 175) resirkuleres til aldoliseringsreaktoren. En andel (49, 181) av katalysator- løsningen avledes for å kontrollere mengden av Cannizzaro- reaksjonsproduktene.
