Abstract

Fremgangsmåte for rensing av glykolid som omfatter å opplse det glykolid som skal renses i et egnet, organisk løsningsmiddel, tilsette aluminiumoksyd til den resulterende løsningen for å danne en oppslemming hvori aluminiumoksydet er i intim kontakt med det oppløste glykolidet, omrøre opp-slemmingen under regulerte betingelser i et tidsrom på 1 til 60 minutter, og filtrere for å fjerne aluminiumoksydet og, om ønsket, fordampe løsningsmidlet for å fjerne dette og gjenvinne det rensede glykolidet, og fremstilling av polyglykolsyre av sutur-kvalitet ved polymerisasjon av det resulterende, rensede glykolidet.
