Abstract

En forbedret prosess er beskrevet for argonutvinning fra en spylegass i et ammonlakksynteseanlegg hvor gassen innbefatter hydrogen, nitrogen, argon, ammoniakk og metan. I en utførelse av oppfinnelsen utsettes denne spylegass for de følgende trinn: (I) separering av ammoniakk ved høyt trykk ved adsorbsjon ved bruk av en molekylær sikt i form av zeolitt-materiale, hvilke deretter regenereres ved varmspyling kombinert med trykkreduksJon. (II) separering av metan og mesteparten av nitrogen ved trykksvingningsadsorbsjon ved bruk av en molekylær sikt og et aktivert karbonmaterlale med større selektivitet for metan enn argon. (III) separering av hydrogen for resirkulering til ammonlakksynteseanlegget ved bruk av en høytrykk kryogen destlllasjonskolonne eller en membranseparator. (IV) separering av nitrogen ved kryogene destillasjons-innretninger for å oppnå hovedsakelig rent, flytende argonprodukt.
