Abstract

En fremgangsmåte for fremstilling fra olivin utfelt silika med kontrollert spesifikt overflateareal og høy renhetsgrad. Fremgangsmåten omfatter tilsats av olivin på en kontrollert måte til en oppvarmet mineralsyreløsning; etter separering av uløst olivin og filtrering blir silika oppslemmet i en vandig løsning for å oppnå en lavviskositetssilikavelling med høyt faststoffinnhold som effektivt kan klumpes sarnmen og tørkes med et relativt lavt energiforbruk. Det oppnådde silika kan være i pulver, perler eller granulær form og har fortrinnsvis et spesifikt overflateareal på minst omtrent 100 m2/g.
