Abstract
En fremgangsmåte for å forbedre ytelse gjennom kanalkvalitetsprediksjon for kommunikasjonssystemer som anvender linkadapsjonsteknikker inkluderer en mottaker som gjør selektive målinger på nedlinksendinger, og lagrer så en eller flere av målingene eller en kanalkvalitetsindikator utledet fra disse. Mottakeren mottar så en eller flere av de foregående målingene (eller foregående kanalkvalitetsestimater i seg selv), og kombinerer det med nåværende målinger (eller nåværende kanalkvalitetsestimat), for å predikere hvilken kanalkvalitet som vil være på et fremtidig tidspunkt og å utlede en prediktiv kanalkvalitetsindikator (CQI). Denne prediktive CQI, utledet fra både nåværende kanalmålinger og i det minste en foregående kanalmåling, blir så sendt til senderen for bruk i oppdatering av sendingsparametere. (Figur 3)
