Description
Foreliggende oppfinnelse angår anvendelse av et dekksjikt av transparent polyuretan med selvhelende egenskaper for vinduer av glass og/eller plastmateriale der dekksjiktet fremstilles ut fra en reaksjonsblanding inneholdende en polyfunksjonell isocyanatforbindelse og spesielt en trifunksjonell slik, og en polyfunksjonell polyolforbindelse, eventuelt en katalysator og andre hjelpestoffer.
Dekksjiktene av polyuretan med selvhelende egenskaper benyttes spesielt som antireflekssjikt i silikatglassvinduer, for eksempel bilfrontruter. Denne anvendelse, beskrevet for eksempel i FR-PS 2 187 719 og 2 251 608. Sjiktene, anordnet på flaten av vinduet som er orientert mot det indre, forhindrer direkte kontakt med de spisse kanter til glass-fragmenter i tilfelle vinduet knuses. I denne konfigurasjon er dekksjiktene beskyttet av glassplaten eller glassplatene mot direkte atmosfærisk påvirkning.
Sjikt av den antydede type benyttes likeledes som dekksjiktet for transparente plastmaterialer. FR-PS 2 058 504, 2 634 816 og 3 201 849 beskriver en slik anvendelse. I dette tilfelle tjener polyuretansjiktet til å forbedre oppskrapingsmot-standsevnen for plastmaterialet. Polyuretansjiktene som er beskrevet ovenfor har den egenskap at de er selvhelende, det vil si at på disse sjikt forsvinner overflatedeformasjonen spontant efter kort tid der forsvinningshastigheten generelt er avhengig av temperaturen.
Slike selvhelende dekksjikt av polyuretan kan også finne anvendelse som dekksjikt for en overflate som eksponeres til den utvendige atmosfære i et vindu av glass og/eller et plastmateriale, enten for å forbedre motstanden mot oppskraping for plastmaterialet, eller for å forbedre motstandsevnen mot slitasje på glasset. Det er således kjent med myke dekksjikt som passer like godt for å forbedre i vesentlig grad motstandsevnen mot slitasje på glasset, for eksempel på grunn av sand.
De kjente polyuretandekksjikt har bemerkelsesverdige egenskaper ikke bare når det gjelder motstandsevne mot oppskraping og andre bruksegenskaper, men også når det gjelder varigheten til disse egenskaper i lang tid så lenge de ikke samtidig utsettes for lys, varme og fuktighet, det vil si så lenge de ikke eksponeres direkte til den fri atmosfære, nemlig direkte solstråling og samtidig fuktighet og regn. Det har vist seg at en slik eksponering av dekksj iktene til de naturlige klimaforhold, åpenbart som en konsekvens av virkning av lys og samtidig hydrolytisk angrep av vann, gjør at dekksjiktoverflaten angripes med tiden. Efter en viss tid er denne nedbrytning av overflaten synlig for øyet og fortsetter uten avbrudd. Som et resultat egner de kjente dekksjiktsammensetninger seg ikke for langtidsbruk på en ytre vindusoverflate, det vil si en som er eksponert direkte til atmosfæren.
Oppfinnelsen foreslår et nytt transparent selvhelende dekksjikt av polyuretan av den ovenfor beskrevne type og som i tillegg til gode fysikalske og mekaniske egenskaper, spesielt når det gjelder motstandsevne mot oppskraping og slitasje, oppviser en forbedret motstandsevne mot klimapåvirkninger, spesielt mot samtidig påvirkning av lys og fuktighet.
I henhold til dette angår foreliggende oppfinnelse anvendelsen av et dekksjikt av transparent polyuretan med selvhelende egenskaper for vinduer eller transparente gjenstander av glass og/eller plastmateriale, dannet ut fra en reaksjonsblanding omfattende en plurifunksjonell isocyanatkomponent og en plurifunksjonell polyolkomponent, eventuelt en reaksjonskatalysator og andre hjelpestoffer, der isocyanatkomponenten i reaksjonsblandingen er valgt blant trifunksjonelle biureter eller isocyanurater av 1,6-heksametylendiisocyanat med en mengde av NCO-rester på 15-25 vekt-# og polyolkomponenten i reaksjonsblandingen er valgt blant polyesterpolyoler med en funksjonalitet over 2 og med en 0H-restmengde på 3 til 12 vekt-* idet reaksjonsblandingen har et forhold NCO : OH, uttrykt som ekvivalenter, på 0,9 til 1,1 og fortrinnsvis ca. 1.
Takket være anvendelsen av en isocyanatforbindelse og en polyolforbindelse med godt definert kjemisk konstitusjon, oppnår man polyuretandekksjikt med likeledes godt definert kjemisk struktur og som i tillegg til de fysikalsk mekaniske egenskaper som er nødvendige for motstandsevne mot oppskraping og gode bruks- og anvendelsesegenskaper, likeledes oppviser den ønskede motstandsevne mot klimatiske på-kjenninger. Derav følger også en anvendelse på eksteriør-overflater som eksponeres direkte mot klimapåvirkninger.
For isocyanatforbindelsen benytter man for eksempel et i det vesentlige trifunksjonelt polyisocyanurat ut fra 1,6-heksametylendiisocyanat med en NCO-mengde på 20 - 23 vekt-*. I en variant kan man benytte et i det vesentlige trifunksjonelt biuret ut fra et 1,6-heksametylendiisocyanat med en NCO-mengde på 21 - 25 vekt-*.
For polyolforbindelsen benytter man i henhold til en fore-trukket utførelsesform av oppfinnelsen en lite forgrenet polyesterpolyol på basis av trimetylolpropan, 1,6-heksandiol, adipinsyre og o- og i-ftalsyre, med en OH-mengde på 3 - 5 vekt-*.
I en annen fordelaktig utførelsesform benytter man som polyolforbindelse en trifunksjonell laktonpolyesterpolyol på basis av trimetylolpropan eller glykol og dekaprolakton med en OH-mengde på 8 - 12 vekt-*.
Valget av en polyesterpolyol er helt og holdent overraskende da det er velkjent for fagmannen at polyesterpolyoler dårlig motstår hydrolyse. Oppfinnelsen går således mot det som ansees kjent.
I motsetning til de reaksjonsblandinger som danner de kjente polyuretanbeleggssjikt der et NCO:OH forhold på 0,8 har hvert ansett som spesielt fordelaktig, benytter man i en fordelaktig utførelsesform av foreliggende oppfinnelse en reaksjonsblanding som oppviser et ekvivalentforhold NC0:0H på 0,9 - 1,1 og fortrinnsvis ca. 1, det vil si et støkiometrisk forhold. De gunstigste egenskaper oppnås derefter når det gjelder aldringsprøver.
Reaksjonsblandingen som benyttes for å fremstille beleggssjiktet ifølge oppfinnelsen kan inneholde additiver slik som utjevningsmidler, organiske oppløsningsmidler, midler for beskyttelse mot lys og anti UV-midler. Disse additiver tilsettes vanligvis til polyolkomponenten. Når det gjelder utjevningsmidler kan man nevne olje og silikonharpikser (oksyalkylen polysiloksaner), fluoralkylestere. Som be-skyttelsemiddel mot lyset kan nevnes sterisk hindrende aminer, i mengder som ligger mellom 0,5 og 2 vekt-* i forhold til polyolvekten. Som anti UV-middel kan nevnes substituerte benzotirazoler i mengder mellom 0,5 og 5 vekt-* i forhold til polyolvekten.
Sjiktet ifølge oppfinnelsen dannes generelt ved støping av reaksjonsblandingen som beskrevet i eksemplene i de euro-peiske publikasjoner 0 132 198 og 0 133 090.
Det kan også dannes ved forstøvning av reaksjonsblandingen eller ved reaktiv injeksjon i en form. Sjiktet kan være dannet in situ på vinduer som skal belegges. Det kan dannes på en fremstillingsbærer fra hvilken belegget derefter trekkes av efter eventuelt å ha vært forbundet med ett eller flere andre sjikt av plastmaterialet. Den oppnådde folie settes derefter samme med substratet for å utgjøre det ønskede vindu.
Med sjikt menes ifølge oppfinnelsen "både et sjikt på et substrat og' i form av en uavhengig folie med ett eller flere sjikt.
Forskjellige fremstillingseksempler for beleggssjiktene ifølge oppfinnelsen skal beskrives nedenfor.
Eksempel 1♦
Man forestrer 160 vektdeler 1,6-heksandiol og 70 vektdeler trimetylolpropan med 167 deler adipinsyre, 56 deler o-ftalsyre og 247 deler i-ftalsyre inntil man oppnår en mengde frie OH-grupper på ca. 4,3 vekt-* og et syretall (DIN 53.402) på ca. 1. Den således oppnådde svakt forgrenede polyesterpolyol utgjør polyolkomponenten for reaksjonsblandingen. Man tilsetter til polyesterpolyolen 0,1 vekt-* av en fluoralkylester som utjevningsmiddel og 1 vekt-* bis(1,2,2,6,6-pentametyl-4-pipeidyl)sebacat som beskyttelsesmiddel mot lys.
For fremstilling av reaksjonsblandingen oppvarmes 100 g i det vesentlige trifunksjonelt polyisocyanat, nemlig 1,6-heksametylendiisocyanat biuret, med en mengde av frie NCO-grupper på 23 vekt-*, med 2,16 g polyesterpolyol som beskrevet ovenfor inntil en temperatur på 80°C og man omrører ved denne temperatur i 10 minutter. Ekvivalentforholdet NC0:0H for reaksjonsblandingen er derefter ca. 1.
Efter blanding av de to bestanddeler jevner man med rakel ut reaksj onsblandingen til en sj ikttykkelse på 0,5 mm på plane flater som på forhånd er oppvarmet til 70° C. For herding av sjiktet holder man de belagte glassplater i 30 min. ved en temperatur av 90 min., for eksempel i et luftsirkulasjonskammer med termostatisk regulering.
Efter herding av beleggssjiktet som fremstilles på denne måte og en kondisjonering ved 20°C i 50* relativ fuktighet løsner man polyuretansjiktene fra glassbærerne for å bestemme deres mekaniske egenskaper og man måler på disse folier strekk-motstandsevnen og forlengelse i henhold til DIN 53455 samt E-modulen i henhold til DIN 53457. Man bestemmer videre propageringsmotstandsevnen for riss i følge Graves i henhold til DIN 53515. Man bestemmer videre slitasjemotstandsevnen I henhold til ECE R-43 og oppripingsmotstanden ifølge Erichsen på polyuretansjiktene adherende til glassplater. Under bestemmelsen av oppripingsmotstandevnen ifølge Erichsen benytter man en f orsøksmontasje som beskrevet i DIN 53799 bortsett fra at den koniske skrapediamant som benyttes oppviser en konisk vinkel på 50° og en krumming på 15 jjm på kjegletoppen. For å bedømme motstandsevnen mot oppskraping indikeres den høyeste belastningsvekt for oppskrapings-diamanten der overhodet ingen permanent synlig lesjon på overflaten kan identifiseres.
Bedømmelsen av overflatetilstanden for polyuretansjiktene gjennomføres på visuell måte.
De mekaniske måleresultater er samlet i Tabell 1 nedenfor.
Tabellen indikerer videre for forskjellige mekaniske egenskaper de intervaller innen hvilke de målte verdier må befinne seg for at polyuretansjiktet skal være tilfreds-stillende når det gjelder de relative kriterier for bruk og spesielt i forbindelse med betegnelsen selvhelende.
Sammenligningseksempel
Man arbeider på samme måte som i Eksempel 1 men benytter som polyolkomponent 31,3 g av en polyeterpolyol med en midlere molekylvekt på 540, oppnådd ved kondensasjon av 1,2-propylen-oksyd med 2,2-bis-l-hydroksymetylbutanol med en mengde av frie OH-grupper på ca. 11,5 og ved til polyolen å sette 0,05 vekt-* i forhold til polyolvekten av dibutyltinndilaurat som katalysator, 0,1 vekt-* av en fluoralkylester som utjevningsmiddel, 1 vekt-* 1,2,2,6,6-pentametyl-4-piperidyl som beskyttelsesmiddel mot lys.
Tabell 1 viser at alle de mekaniske egenskaper for sjiktet ligger innen de krevede grenser.
For å undersøke innflytelsen av den frie atmosfære på overflatetilstanden eksponerer man et antall prøver fritt til klimaforholdene i en periode på flere måneder. Efter denne periode kunne man ikke se noen endring av overflaten på polyuretansjiktet. Glansmålinger indikerte et svakt fall på under 1*.
Dette tap er på over 50* når det gjelder sammenlignings-eksemplet og dette til tross for anvendelse av et beskyttelsesmiddel mot lys.
Eksempel 2.
For fremstilling av en reaksjonsblanding blandes heftig i 10 min. ved 40°C med 100 g av et i det vesentlige trifunksonelt polyisocyanat inneholdende isocyanuratrester på basis av 1,6-heksametylendiisocyanat, med en mengde av frie NCO-grupper på 21,5 vekt-*, med 94,2 g av et trifunksjonelt polykaprolakton med en mengde av frie OH-grupper på 9,3 vekt-*. NCO/OH forholdet er således 1. Man tilsetter på forhånd som additiv til polykaprolaktonet 0,015 vekt-* i forhold til polykapro-laktonets vekt av dibutyltinndilaurat som reaksjonskatalysator, 0,1 vekt-* av en fluoralakylester som utjevningsmiddel og 1 vekt-* bis-1,2,2,6,6-pentametyl-4-piperidyl)sebacat som beskyttelsesmiddel mot lys. Efter blanding av de to kompo-nenter rakelpåføres reaksjonsblandingen i en tykkelse på 0,5 mm på plane glassplater som på forhånd er oppvarmet til 70°C. Man gjennomfører herding av sjiktet på ny ved 90° C i en varighet av 30 min. i et luftsirkulasjonskammer med termo-stat reguler ing.
For å undersøke aldringsinnflytelsen for forskjellige omgivelsesbetingelser holder man under disse forskjellige omgivelsesbetingelser glassplatene som er dekket med dette polyuretansjikt og man bestemmer derefter de mekaniske egenskaper og de optiske egenskaper. Tabell 2 nedenfor oppsummerer målingsresultåtene for mekaniske egenskaper, for de forskjellige prøver som man har gjennomført som følger: Prøve A: umiddelbar måling efter herding av polyuretan-
sj ikt; Prøve B: 21 dager opphold i laboratoriet under vanlige
omgivelsesbetingelser; Prøve C: 2 timers opphold ved 60°C i en luftsirkulasjons-
ovn, Prøve D: 7 dager oppbevaring ved 60°C i en atmosfære med 100* relativ fuktighet.
Målingsresultåtene viser på ny at selv efter kunstig aldringsbehandling på forskjellig måte befinner de fysikalsk strekkmekaniske egenskaper seg mellom de pålagte grenser, det vil si at ingen signifikant aldring kan observeres når det gjelder disse egenskaper.
For en annen serie prøver gjennomprøver man en direkte utendørsprøve i løpet av flere måneder ved å eksponere glassplatene utstyrt med dekksjikt direkte til utendørsatmos-fære. Efter eksponering gjennomfører man en visuell be-dømmelse av beleggssjiktet og gjennomfører videre de glansmålinger som beskrives i DIN 67530. Den visuelle bedømmelse indikerer at det ikke er noen synlig endring på overflaten eller i dybden av beleggssjiktet. Glansmålingene indikerer en ekstremt liten reduksjon av overflateglansen på ca. 0,5* sammenlignet med de målte verdier på de samme prøver før klimaeksponering.
Beleggssjiktet som anvendes ifølge oppfinnelsen kan benyttes ved alle de tidligere beskrevne anvendelser. Det benyttes også forbundet med et polyuretansjikt som oppviser energi-absorberende egenskaper for derved å gi en tosjiktsplate som for eksempel beskrevet i EP-PS 0 132 198 og 0 133 090, idet denne tosjiktsplate fordelaktig benyttes som sikkerhetsglass i bilvinduer.
Claims (4)
1.
Anvendelse av et dekksjikt av transparent polyuretan med selvhelende egenskaper for vinduer eller transparente gjenstander av glass og/eller plastmateriale, dannet ut fra en reaksjonsblanding omfattende en plurifunksjonell isocyanatkomponent og en plurifunksjonell polyolkomponent, eventuelt en reaksjonskatalysator og andre hjelpestoffer, der isocyanatkomponenten i reaksjonsblandingen er valgt blant trifunksjonelle biureter eller isocyanurater av 1,6-heksametylendiisocyanat med en mengde av NCO-rester på 15-25 vekt-* og polyolkomponenten i reaksjonsblandingen er valgt blant polyesterpolyoler med en funksjonalitet over 2 og med en 0H-restmengde på 3 til 12 vekt-* idet reaksjonsblandingen har et forhold NCO : OH, uttrykt som ekvivalenter, på 0,9 til 1,1 og fortrinnsvis ca. 1.

Anvendelse av et dekksjikt av polyuretan ifølge krav 1, der polyolkomponenten inneholder en lite forgrenet polyesterpolyol på basis av trimetylolpropan, 1,6-heksandiol, adipinsyre, o-ftalsyre og i-ftalsyre, med en OH-restmengde på 3-5 vekt-*.

Anvendelse av et dekksjikt av polyuretan ifølge krav 1 der polyolkomponenten inneholder et trifunksjonelt polykaprolakton med en OH-restmengde på 8-12 vekt-*.

Anvendelse av et dekksjIkt av polyuretan ifølge krav 1 der reaksjonsblandingen inneholder minst et av de følgende additiver: dibutyltinndilaurat som reaksjonskatalysator, en eller flere kjemiske forbindelser som silikonoljer, silikonharpikser eller fluoralkylestere i en mengde av 0,05 til 0,15 vekt-* som utjevningsmiddel, 0,5 til 2 vekt-* bis(1,2,2,6,6-penta-metyl-4-piperidyl)sebacat som beskyttelsesmiddel mot lys og eventuelt absorbsjonsmidler som substituerte benzotriazoler for ultrafiolett stråling i en mengde på 0,5 til 5 vekt-*.
