Werkwijze voor het vervaardigen van een LED matrlxkop
De uitvinding heeft betrekking op een werkwijze voor het vervaardigen van een lichtemitterende diode (LED)matrixkop, omvattende de stappen van: het vormen van een uitwendige bedrading op een gedeelte 5 van een bovenoppervlak van een substraat, waarbij het substraat is voorzien van een uitsparing, het hechten van een LED component in genoemde uitsparing, het vormen van een isolerende laag over het gehele bovenoppervlak van het substraat en de LED component, het vormen van vensters door het selectief etsen van genoemde isolerende laag om toegang te verschaffen tot de uitwendige bedrading en een individuele elektrode van de LED component, en het vormen van een verbinding via de vensters voor het 10 elektrisch koppelen van de uitwendige bedrading met de elektrode van de LED component.
Een dergelijke werkwijze is bekend uit het Amerikaanse octrooischrift nr. 3.964.157.
Bij een volgens de bekende werkwijze vervaardigde lichtemitterende diodematrix is deze, aan dezelfde zijde als waar de individuele elektrodes van de LED component zijn aangebracht, voorzien van een inwendige bedrading die ohms contact maakt met het substraat van de LED component. De consequentie 15 hiervan is dat de LED component een groter oppervlak inneemt dan nodig zou zijn als deze inwendige bedrading niet aan dezelfde zijde zou zijn aangebracht, terwijl bovendien extra uitwendige bedrading op het bovenoppetvlak van het substraat is vereist voor verbinding met deze inwendige bedrading, wat weer gevolgen heeft voor het totale oppervlak van het substraat. Bij een kleiner oppervlak van de LED component kunnen derhalve de totale afmetingen van de inrichting waarin deze is opgenomen worden terugge-20 bracht.
Bovendien bestaat bij de bekende werkwijze het gevaar, dat bij het vormen van een verbinding via de vensters voor het elektrisch koppelen van de uitwendige bedrading met de elektrode van de LED component er elektrisch geleidend materiaal vloeit in de groef tussen de wand van de uitsparing in het substraat en de naar deze wand toegekeerde zijde van de LED component, waardoor de LED component onbruikbaar 25 zou zijn, aangezien de diode dan feitelijk zou zijn kortgesloten.
De werkwijze volgens de uitvinding beoogt de hiervoor beschreven bezwaren te ondervangen en heeft hiertoe als kenmerk, dat de inwendige bedrading wordt aangebracht over een geheel bovenoppervlak van de genoemde uitsparing waarin de LED component wordt geplaatst, en dat bij het vormen van de elektrische verbinding tussen de vensters onder de elektrische verbinding de isolerende laag aanwezig blijft.
30 Met voordeel kan er met de werkwijze volgens de uitvinding meer dan één LED component in één uitsparing in het substraat worden geplaatst met een voor alle LED componenten gemeenschappelijke, over een geheel bovenoppetvlak van de uitsparing aangebrachte inwendige bedrading.
Opgemerkt wordt, dat uit het Amerikaanse octrooischrift nr. 4.074.299 een LED matrixkop bekend is die is voorzien van op de bodem van genoemde uitsparingen aangebrachte inwendige bedrading, waarbij de 35 bedrading wordt gebruikt voor een gemeenschappelijke elektrode van de matrix. Bij deze bekende LED matrixkop strekt de inwendige bedrading zich echter uit tussen de gelaagde structuur van het substraat en wordt pas toegankelijk dan nadat er boven deze inwendige bedrading uitsparingen zijn aangebracht. Bij de werkwijze volgens de uitvinding wordt daarentegen pas nadat de uitsparing is aangebracht de inwendige bedrading over een geheel bovenoppervlak van de uitsparing waarin de LED component wordt geplaatst 40 aangebracht.
De uitvinding wordt toegelicht aan de hand van de tekening. Hierin is: figuur 1 een aanzicht van een voorkeursuitvoeringsvorm van een LED matrixkop volgens de uitvinding; en 45 figuren 2(A) tot (E) zijn dwarsdoorsneden over het gedeelte A-A' van de LED matrixkop volgens figuur 1 aan de hand waarvan de weikwijze volgens de uitvinding wordt toegelicht.
Rguur 1 toont een voorkeursuitvoeringsvorm van een LED matrixkop, vervaardigd met de werkwijze volgens de uitvinding en omvattende een aantal lichtemitterende oppervlakken 7, die in een rij langs de middellijn 50 van een keramisch substraat 28 zijn opgesteld, waarbij in een LED matrixcomponent 26 het aantal individuele elektroden gelijk is aan het aantal lichtemitterende oppervlakken, er een aantal uitwendige draden 22 is, in aantal gelijk aan het aantal lichtemitterende oppervlakken en deze uitwendige draden zijn aangebracht op het keramisch substraat 20. Een aantal secundaire draden 34, waarvan het aantal gelijk is aan dat van de lichtemitterende oppervlakken 7, zorgen voor de elektrische koppeling tussen elke 55 respectievelijke individuele elektrode van een LED en de corresponderende uitwendige bedrading 22 via twee contacten 31,32.

Claims (2)
1. Werkwijze voor het vervaardigen van een lichtemitterende diode (LED)matrixkop, omvattende de stappen van: 35 het vormen van een uitwendige bedrading op een gedeelte van een bovenoppervlak van een substraat, waarbij het substraat is voorzien van een uitsparing, het hechten van een LED component in genoemde uitsparing, het vormen van een isolerende laag over het gehele bovenoppervlak van het substraat en de LED component, 40 het vormen van vensters door het selectief etsen van genoemde isolerende laag om toegang te verschaffen tot de uitwendige bedrading en een individuele elektrode van de LED component, en het vormen van een verbinding via de vensters voor het elektrisch koppelen van de uitwendige bedrading met de elektrode van de LED component, gekenmerkt, doordat de inwendige bedrading (24) wordt aangebracht over een geheel bovenoppervlak van de genoemde uitsparing (21) waarin de LED 45 component (26) wordt geplaatst, en doordat bij het vormen van de elektrische verbinding (34) tussen de vensters (31,32) onder de elektrische verbinding (34) de isolerende laag (30) aanwezig blijft.
2. Werkwijze volgens conclusie 1, met het kenmerk, dat er meer dan één LED component (26) in één uitsparing (21) in het substraat (20) wordt geplaatst met een voor alle LED componenten (26) gemeen- 50 schappelijke, over een geheel bovenoppervlak van de uitsparing aangebrachte inwendige bedrading (24).
