Abstract

La presente invencion proporciona polvos curables por luz ultravioleta (UV) para recubrimientos en polvo, que comprenden una o mas resinas epoxi, curables por radical libre, y una o mas segundas resinas, curables por radical libre, o, alternativamente, una o mas resinas de poliester insaturados, curables por radical libre, con una o mas ceras, y uno o mas fotoiniciadores de radial libre, en que el polvo de recubrimiento tiene un tamano promedio de particulas de 5 a 25 micras. Ademas, la presente invencion suministra un metodo para obtener un polvo para recubrimientos uniformes, delgados (25.4 a 102 micras), que tienen un tamano promedio de particulas de 5 a 25 micras, este metodo comprende, preferiblemente, el molido de tipo chorro de un polvo seco o el secado por rociado de una emulsion acuosa, una mezcla de fluidos o una suspension supercritica de un polvo o de la composicion para obtener el polvo. Asimismo, la presente invencion proporciona un metodo para obtener un recubrimiento en polvo, que comprende aplicar el polvo a una superficie, preferiblemente de madera dura, fundir por calor el polvo aplicado, y curar por luz UV a una temperatura y por una cantidad de tiempo suficientes para formar un recubrimiento en polvo que tenga un acabado de bajo brillo.
