Abstract

Se proporciona una forma de dosificacion de liberacion sostenida, administrable por vía oral, que incluye partículas de un ingrediente farmacéutico activo el está recubierto con un material polimérico que es insoluble en agua, pero permeable en agua e hinchable con agua, de manera que la forma de dosificacion de liberacion sostenida proporciona liberacion controlada la cual es independiente de ciertos factores fisiologicos variables tales como pH. De acuerdo con un aspecto de la invencion, el ingrediente activo es acetaminofeno y las partículas de acetaminofeno recubiertas se combinan con partículas de acetaminofeno no recubiertas para proporcionar una combinacion de forma de dosificacion de liberacion inmediata/liberacion sostenida. De acuerdo con otro aspecto de la invencion, el ingrediente farmacéutico activo está recubierto con copolímero de éster de metacrilato, y las partículas recubiertas se combinan con partículas no recubiertas de un ingrediente farmacéutico activo para proporcionar una combinacion de forma de dosificacion de liberacion inmediata/liberacion sostenida, en la que el componente de liberacion sostenida proporciona una velocidad de liberacion la cual es sustancialmente independiente de factores fisiologicos tales como el pH. La forma de dosificacion final, administrable por vía oral, puede presentarse como tabletas comprimidas, cápsulas o sacos.
