Abstract

Un proceso para el tratamiento del tabaco. El proceso comprende encerrar al tabaco dentro de un material capaz de retener la humedad y exponer al material de tabaco a una temperatura ambiente de procesamiento mayor de 55°C, donde el tabaco tiene una densidad de compactación de por lo menos 200 kg/m3 en base al peso de materia seca al comienzo del proceso y un contenido de humedad de entre aproximadamente 10% y 23%. El tabaco tratado puede tener propiedades organolépticas deseables.
