Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a reactivos, ensayos, métodos, equipos, dispositivos y sistemas para la medición rápida de colesterol y sub-fracciones de colesterol de una muestra de sangre. Se pueden medir el colesterol total, lipoproteína de baja densidad-colesterol, y lipoproteína de alta densidad-colesterol en un ensayo individual usando mediciones cinéticas, bajo condiciones en las cuales se convierten a sub-especies de colesterol a un producto detectable a distintas velocidades. El producto detectable se mide en diferentes momentos después del inicio del ensayo. Se puede usar una lipasa, una colesterol-esterasa, una colesterol-oxidasa y una peroxidasa conjuntamente para producir el producto coloreado en cantidades directamente proporcionales a la cantidad de colesterol convertido. Los métodos para calcular los niveles de lipoproteína de muy baja densidad-colesterol al incluir además mediciones de triglicéridos se describen.
