Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a un método para la producción de un toxina botulínica, el método comprende los pasos de: (a) tratamiento de un cultivo de una cepa que produce toxina botulínica con ácido para precipitar la toxina botulínica; (b) adición de un regulador a la toxina botulínica precipitada, seguida por el tratamiento con un inhibidor de proteasa y nucleasa, de este modo se extrae la toxina botulínica; (c) tratamiento de la toxina botulínica extraída con ácido para precipitar la toxina botulínica y disolver el precipitado en el regulador; y (d) purificación de la toxina botulínica mediante cromatografía de intercambio aniónico, caracterizado porque la precipitación ácida de la etapa (c) se realiza agregando ácido sulfúrico o ácido clorhídrico a la toxina botulínica extraída, de modo que la toxina botulínica extraída alcance un pH de 2.5-4.5.
