Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a una formulación farmacéutica líquida para inyección en el ojo para la liberación sostenida de una proteína terapéutica, caracterizada porque comprende: un excipiente no polimérico biocompatible, biodegradable, líquido, en donde dicho excipiente es benzoato de bencilo; y un polímero de poli(d, l-láctico-co-glicólido) (PLGA) biodegradable, biocompatible que tiene una relación de láctido:glicólido de 50:50, intervalo de peso molecular 7,000-17,000 y un grupo terminal alquiléster; en donde la relación en % de peso del excipiente no polimérico: polímero es 90:10 a 99:1, incluso; en donde durante y después de inyectar de 5 µl a 100 µl de la formulación, usando una aguja de calibre 25, 27, 28, 30 o menor, la formulación mantiene su integridad monolítica y estado líquido; y en donde la formulación libera la proteína terapéutica de la formulación por un período de por lo menos 14 días.
