Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a un hospedador microbiano recombinante para la producción de xilitol, conteniendo el hospedador microbiano recombinante una secuencia de ácido nucleico que codifica una D-arabitol 4-oxidorreductasa específica de NAD+ (EC 1.1.1.11) que utiliza d-arabitol como sustrato y que produce D-xilulosa como producto, y una secuencia de ácido nucleico que codifica una xilitol deshidrogenasa específica de NADPH utilizando D-xilulosa como sustrato y produciendo xilitol como producto.
