Abstract
a presente invenção se refere a um hospedeiro microbiano recombinante para a produção de xilitol, em que o hospedeiro microbiano recombinante contém uma sequência de ácidos nucleicos que codifica uma d-arabitol 4-oxidorredutase específica de nad+ (ec 1.1.1.11) que usa d-arabitol como substrato e que produz d-xilulose como produto, e uma sequência de ácido nucleico que codifica uma xilitol desidrogenase específica de nadph que usa d-xilulose como substrato e que produz xilitol como produto.
