Abstract
a presente invenção se refere a leveduras geneticamente modificadas que podem usar lactato como fonte de carbono para produzir um produto de fermentação. em um aspecto, as leveduras podem consumir glicose e lactato simultaneamente para produzir etanol. em um aspecto, a levedura geneticamente modificada é transformada para incluir um transportador monocarboxílico/de monocarboxilato. em um aspecto, a levedura pode incluir um ou mais genes heterólogos codificando a lactato desidrogenase (citocromo) (ec 1.1.2.3 e/ou 1.1.2.4).
