Abstract

La presente invención divulga un poliuretano termoplástico que está comprendido del producto de reacción de (1) un intermediario de poliéster terminado en hidroxilo, (2) un poliisocianato y (3) un extendedor de cadena de glicol; en donde el intermediario de poliéster terminado en hidroxilo está comprendido de unidades de repetición que se derivan de 1,3-propilenglicol y un ácido dicarboxílico; en donde el intermediario de poliéster terminado en hidroxilo tiene un peso molecular promedio en número que está dentro del intervalo de 500 a 10,000; y en donde el poliuretano termoplástico incluye segmentos duros que son el producto de reacción del poliisocianato y el extendedor de cadena de glicol. Este poliuretano termoplástico es único en que tiene una tendencia ampliamente reducida a la eflorescencia. Esto es altamente deseable en aplicaciones donde se describe alta claridad debido a que la eflorescencia causa que los artículos que contienen el poliuretano termoplástico sean nebulosos o empañados en apariencia. La eflorescencia también puede reducir la habilidad de un artículo hecho con el poliuretano termoplástico a ser unido de manera segura a otro artículo con un adhesivo.
