Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a un catalizador de plata mejorado, adecuado para uso en la oxidación de etileno a óxido de etileno, caracterizado por a) un soporte de alúmina calcinaco, enriquecido en metal alcalino y b) de 1 a 15 por ciento en peso de plata metálica, basado en el peso del catalizador tal, c) un metal alcalino del grupo constituido por potasio, rubidio y cesio, en la forma de su óxido o hidróxido como activador y d) un anión fluoruro, estando presentes los dos últimos comprendidos en c) y d) cada uno en una cantidad entre 10 y 1000 partes en peso por millón de partes en peso del catalizador total.
