Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a adsorbentes reactivos mejorados para la conservación de productos vegetales recolectados constituídos por un soporte de sepiolita impregnada con soluciones acuosas de alto poder oxidante. Procedimiento mejorado para conservar productos vegetales y frutas recolectadas, caracterizado porque el adsorbente reactivo se pone en contacto con la atmósfera circundante a la especie vegetal a conservar que está alojada en un recinto cerrado, semicerrado o abierto, mantenido a una temperatura del intervalo de -6 grados C hasta la temperatura ambiente, e iluminado opcionalmente en condiciones de iluminación artificial discontinua compatibles con la actividad respiratoria del vegetal a conservar, empleándose una relación en peso de material vegetal a adsorbente reactivo en el intervalo de 300:1 a 6000:1, con lo que el etileno de la atmósfera circundante del material vegetal reacciona con el adsorbente reactivo. Procedimiento para fabricar los adsorbentes reactivos mejorados caracterizados por las operaciones siguientes: a) impregnar polvo o gránulos de sepiolita de tamaños comprendidos preferentemente entre 2 y 4 mm con soluciones acuosas de alto poder oxidante particularmente permanganatos, preferiblemente permanganato potásico; b) escurrir la suspensión formada; y c) secar la sepiolita impregnada a una temperatura inferior a 250 grados C.
