Claims (26)

  1. 고정부와 회전부를 갖는 회로에 있어서, 고정 인코더；전원；고정자와 회전자를 포함하는 회전 변압기를 포함하는데, 상기 고정 인코더는 상기 회전제에 결합되며；상기 회전자에 결합되고 또 함께 회전하는 디코더；상기 디코더에 결합되고 있고, 상기 회전 변합기를 거쳐서 상기 전원 공급부에 결합되어 있으며, 상기 디코더 및 상기 회전자와 함께 회전하는 증폭기； 및 상기 증폭기에 결합되어 있는 적어도 하나의 판독/기록 헤드를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 회로.
  2. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 회전 변압기는 회전자 권선 및 상응하는 고정자 권선으로 구성된 적어도 첫 번째 및 두 번째 채널들을 더 포함하고, 상기 전원 공급부 및 증폭기는 상기 첫 번째 채널을 거쳐서 결합되고, 상기 인코더와 디코더는 상기 두 번째 채널을 거쳐서 결합되는 것을 특징으로 하는 회로.
  3. 제2항에 있어서, 상기 두 번째 채널의 상기 고정자 권선과 증폭기 사이에 결합된 전류 정류기를 더 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 회로.
  4. 제2항에 있어서, 상기 회전 변압기가 세 번재 채널을 더 포함하며, 상기 인코더가 클럭 출력 신호를 상기 세 번째 채널을 거쳐서 상기 디코더에 제공하는 것을 특징으로 하는 회로.
  5. 제4항에 있어서, 상기 회전 변압기가 상기 증폭기 및 상기 판독/기록 헤드에 결합된 네 번째 채널을 더 포함하고, 상기 네 번째 채널이 첫 번째 채널로부터의 상대적으로 절연되는 것을 특징으로 하는 회로.
  6. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 증폭기에 결합된 다수의 판독/기록 헤드들을 더 포함하고, 상기 제어신호들은 상기 다수의 헤드들 중에서 어느 하나가 주어진 시간에 기록을 위하여 사용될 것인가를 선택하기 위한 정보를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 회로.
  7. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 증폭기 및 상기 전원에 결합되고, 전원 공급부가 활성일 때 전하를 저장하며, 전원 공급부가 비활성일 때 상기 증폭기에 전하를 제공하기 위하여 상기 증폭기 및 전원 공급부에 결합된 캐패시터를 더 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 회로.
  8. 호스트 인터페이스, 회전 헤드 드럼, 및 고정부를 포함하는 저장 장치를 위한 아아치형 스캔 헤드 어셈블리에 있어서, 상기 고정부와 결합된 고정자 및 상기 회전부에 결합된 회전자 사이에 적어도 첫 번째 및 두 번째의 채널들을 포함하는 회전 변압기；상기 고정부 상의 데이터 채널 상기 변압기의 상기 데이터 채널 및 상기 첫 번째 채널에 결합되고, 동기화 데이터 및 제어 출력 데이터를 제공하는 포맷터；상기 변압기의 상기 두 번째 채널에 결합된 전원 공급부；상기 회전 헤드 드럼 상에 제공되고 상기 변압기의 상기 첫 번째 채널 및 상기 동기 데이터 및 제어 출력 신호에 결합되어 있고, 다수의 제어 출력 및 데이터 출력을 가지는 디코더；상기 디코더의 상기 제어부 및 데이터 출력부, 및 상기 전원 공급부에 결합된 상기 회전 헤드 드럼 상의 증폭기； 및 상기 증폭기에 결합된 상기 회전 헤드 드럼상의 적어도 하나의 판독/기록 헤드를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 아아치형 스캔 헤드 어셈블리.
  9. 제8항에 있어서, 상기 디코더, 증폭기, 및 헤드들은 상기 헤드 드럼이 축 위를 회전하기 위하여 밸런스 되도록 정렬되는 것을 특징으로 하는 아아치형 스캔 헤드 어셈블리.
  10. 제9항에 있어서, 상기 헤드 드럼은 약 0.7 인치의 직경을 가지는 것을 특징으로 하는 아아치형 스캔 헤드 어셈블리.
  11. 제8항에 있어서, 상기 증폭기에 결합된 다수의 판독/기록 헤드들을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 아아치형 스캔 헤드 어셈블리.
  12. 제8항에 있어서, 상기 디코더는 상기 데이터 저장 매체에 상기 데이터를 기록하도록 상기 증폭기 상기 헤드를 구동시키는 상기 제어정보를 디지털－아날로그 변환기에 제공하는 것을 특징으로 하는 아아치형 스캔 헤드 어셈블리.
  13. 제8항에 있어서, 상기 증폭기는 상기 동기 데이터 및 제어 출력을 생성하도록 상기 포맷터가 제어정보와 함께 유저 데이터를 인코드하는 것을 특징으로 하는 아아치형 스캔 헤드 어셈블리.
  14. 제13항에 있어서, 상기데이터 스트림은 제어워드, 서보 정보 및 에러 코딩을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 아아치형 스캔 헤드 어셈블리.
  15. 제13항에 있어서, 상기 유저 데이터는 NRZ 코딩 포맷과 함께 상기 포맷터로 공급되기 이전에 상기 데이터 채널에 의하여 인코드되는 것을 특징으로 하는 아아치형 스캔 헤드 어셈블리.
  16. 제13항에 있어서, 상기 유저 데이터는 PR4ML 인코딩 포맷과 함께 상기 포맷터로 공급되기 이전에 상기 데이터 채널에 의하여 인코드 되는 것을 특징으로 하는 아아치형 스캔 헤드 어셈블리.
  17. 제13항에 있어서, 상기 디코더는 기록 데이터 생성기, 시퀀스 제어기, 시프트 레지스터 및 홀딩 레지스터를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 아아치형 스캔 헤드 어셈블리.
  18. 제17항에 있어서, 상기 기록 데이터 생성기는 제어정보를 디코드하고 동기화 스트림의 존재를 확인한 후에 상기 제어 정보를 상기 시프트 레지스터에 제공하는 것을 특징으로 하는 아아치형 스캔 헤드 어셈블리.
  19. 제8항에 있어서, 상기 회전자 상의 전원 공급 필터를 포함하고 상기 회전자와 회전하는 것을 특징으로 하는 아아치형 스캔 헤드 어셈블리.
  20. 회전부와 고정부를 포함하는 저장 장치를 위한 장치에 있어서, 상기 고정자에 결합된 고정자 및 상기 회전부에 결합된 회전자 및 다수의 채널을 가지는 회전 변압기；상기 고정부 상에 제공된 판독/기록 채널；상기 고정부에 제공되고 상기 회전 변압기의 첫 번째에 결합된 데이터 및 제어 신호 인코더；상기 고정부에 제공되고 상기 회전 변압기의 두 번째 채널에 결합된 전원 공급부；상기 회전부에 제공되고 상기 첫 번째 채널에 결합된 디코더；상기 회전부에 제공되고 상기 디코드 및 회전 변압기의 두 번째 채널에 결합된 적어도 하나의 증폭기； 및 상기 회전부에 제공되고 상기 적어도 하나의 증폭기에 결합된 적어도 하나의 판독/기록 헤드를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 아아치형 스캔 헤드 어셈블리.
  21. 제20항에 있어서, 상기 판독/기록 채널은 PR 4ML 코드 채널을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 장치.
  22. 제20항에 있어서, 상기 판독/기록 채널은 PR 4ML 채널을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 장치.
  23. 제20항에 있어서, 상기 디코더가 데이터 입력부 및 클럭 입력부를 포함하고, 상기 데이터 입력부는 직렬 데이터 및 제어 정보를 받아들이기에 적절한 것을 특징으로 하는 장치.
  24. 제20항에 있어서, 상기 전원 공급부는 스위치 모드 전원을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 장치.
  25. 호스트 컴퓨터를 위한 데이터 저장 장치에 있어서, 호스트 인터페이스；상기 컴퓨터에 연결되고 데이터를 운반하는 데이터 채널；표면을 가지는 테이프 저장 매체； 및 상기 테이프 저장 매체와 상호 작용하는 아이치형 스캔 어셈블리를 포함하는데, 상기 아아치형 스캔 어셈블리는 고정부 및 회전부를 포함하며, 상기 고정부는, 모터；고정자； 및 상기 고정자 및 제어 신호를 발생하고 상기 제어 신호들과 함께 데이터 신호를 시퀀싱하는 상기 데이터 채널에 결합된 포맷터를 포함하고, 상기 회전부는, 상기 테이프 표면에 직교하는 축 주위를 회전하는 헤드드럼에 지지된 다수의 회전 헤드；회전자；데이터 및 제어신호 디코더； 및 상기 데이터 및 상기 제어 신호 디코더 및 상기 기록 모드의 상기 헤드들에 데이터 신호를 공급하고 상기 기록 모드 페이프로부터 데이터 신호를 수신하는 상기 헤드에 결합된 전치－증폭기를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 데이터 저장 장치.
  26. 테이프 저장 매체에 데이터를 판독 및 기록하기 위한 방법에 있어서, 테이퍼에 인접하고 적어도 하나의 판독/기록 헤드 및 상기 헤드에 결합된 증폭기를 포함하는 회전 헤드 드럼을 제공하는 단계；전치 증폭기 제어 신호들 및 상기 데이터를 동기 신호로 인코딩하는 단계；회전 변압기를 통하여 상기 동기 신호를 상기 헤드 드럼에 전송하는 단계；상기 회전 변압기를 통하여 클럭 신호를 전송하는 단계；상기 전치 증폭기에 전력을 보내는 단계； 및 상기 동기 신호를 디코딩하여 상기 전치 증폭기가 상기 데이터를 상기 테이프에 기록하도록 명령받도록 하는 단계를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.
