Abstract

본 발명은 가스 스트림에서 CO2를 제거하기 위한 압력 스윙 흡착(pressure swing adsorption)에 관한 것으로서, 본 발명은 출발 알루미나를 pH가 9 이상인 염기성 용액, 예컨대 KHCO3와 같은 염기성 화합물에 침지시키고, 상기 염기성 화합물이 분해되는 것을 회피할 정도로 충분히 낮은 온도로 건조시켜서 상기 화합물이 감압의 소기(purge)하에서 재생되지 않도록 CO2를 흡착하는 개선된 알루미나를 사용한다.

Claims (10)

  1. 제1압력에서 가스를, pH가 9 이상인 염기성 용액에 알루미나를 함침시킴으로써 제조한 흡착제에 노출시켜 상기 가스로부터 이산화탄소를 제거하고, 압력을 낮추어 상기 흡착제를 상기 제1압력보다 낮은 압력에 노출시킴으로써 흡착제를 주기적으로 재생시키는 단계를 포함하는, 가스로부터 이산화탄소를 흡착하기 위한 압력 스윙 흡착 방법.
  2. 제1항에 있어서, 함침 용액의 pH가 10 이상인 방법.
  3. 제1항에 있어서, 함침 용액의 pH가 10 내지 12인 방법.
  4. 제1항에 있어서, 함침 용액의 pH가 약 11인 방법.
  5. 제1항에 있어서, 함침 용액의 pH가 하기 수학식(1)에 따른 알루미나의 영 전위점(zero point charge)과의 상관관계를 갖는 방법:
    pH≥zpc-1.4 (1)
  6. 제5항에 있어서, 함침 용액의 pH가 하기 수학식(2)에 따른 알루미나의 영 전위점과의 상관관계를 갖는 방법:
    zpc+2≤pH≤-1.4 (2)
  7. 제1항에 있어서, 함침 용액의 pH가 하기 수학식(3)에 따른 알루미나의 영 전위점과의 상관관계를 갖는 방법:
    zpc+1≤pH≥zpc-1 (3)
  8. 제1항에 있어서, 염기성 용액이 알칼리 금속 또는 암모늄 화합물의 용액인 방법.
  9. 제1항에 있어서, 화합물이 수산화물, 탄산염, 중탄산염, 인산염, 및 유기산염으로 구성된 군에서 선택되는 방법.
  10. 제1항에 있어서, 가스가 흡착 공정에 앞서 이산화탄소를 1000ppm 이하로 포함하는 방법.
