Abstract

본 발명은 염화수소, 플루오르화수소, 브롬화수소 및 요오드화수소와 같은 무수 할로겐화수소를 염소, 플루오르, 브롬 및 요오드 가스와 같은 실질적으로 건조한 할로겐 가스로 전기화학적으로 전환시키는 방법에 관한 것이다. 본 발명에 의해 고순도의 할로겐 가스를 제조할 수 있다. 상기 방법에서, 실질적으로 무수 할로겐화수소는 전기화학적 셀의 도입구(18)를 통하여 공급되고 셀의 음극(14)으로 수송된다. 실질적으로 무수 할로겐화 수소 분자는 셀의 음극에서 산화되어 실질적으로 건조한 할로겐 가스와 양성자를 생성하며 이들은 셀의 막(12)을 통하여 수송된다. 수송된 양성자는 양극(16)에서 환원된다.

제 1도는 본 발명의 제 1실시예에 따라 무수 할로겐화수소로부터 할로겐 가스를 제조하기 이한 수소-생성 양극을 갖는 전기화학적셀의 개략도이다, 제 2도는 본 발명의 제 2 실시예에 따라 무수 할로겐화수소로부터 할로겐 가스를 제조하기 위한 물-생성 양극을 갖는 전기화학적 셀의개략도이다, 제 3도는 실질적으로 무수 염소가스로부터 소량의 미반응 염화수소를 분리하여 그것을 제 1도의 전기화학적 셀에 재활용하기 위한 시스템의 개략도이다, 제 4도는 무수 염화수소를 부생성물로 제조하는 합성 공정을 포함하고 또 실질적으로 건조한 염소 가스를 상기 합성 공정에 재활용하며 미반응 염화수소를 제 1도의 전기화학적 셀에 잴활용하는 제 3도의 시스템을 변경한 개략도이다.

Claims (20)

  1. ⒜ 실질적으로 무수 할로겐화수소 분자를 전기화학적 셀의 도입구에 도입하여 셀의 음극으로 수송하며; ⒝ 실질적으로 무수 할로겐화수소 분자를 음극에서 산화시켜 실질적으로 건조한 할로겐 가스와 양성자를 생성하며; ⒞ 양성자를 전기화학적 셀의 양이온 수송막을 통하여 수송하고; 또 ⒟ 수송된 양성자를 양극에서 환원시키는 것을 포함하는, 실질적으로 무수 할로겐화수소로부터 실질적으로 건조한 할로겐 가스를 직접적으로 제조하는 방법.
  2. 제 1항에 있어서, 상기 할로겐화수소-생성 할로겐 가스가 염화수소, 브롬화수소, 플루오르화수소 및 요오드화수소로 구성된 군으로부터 선정되는 방법.
  3. 제 1항에 있어서, 상기 수송된 양성자가 환원되어 수소 가스를 생성하는 방법.
  4. 제 1항에 있어서, 막의 양극측을 습윤되게 유지시켜 막을 통한 양성자 수송 효율을 증가시키는 단계를 추가로 포함하는 방법.
  5. 제 1항에 있어서, 산소를 함유하는 가스를 막의 양극측에 도입하고 또 양성자 및 산소를 양극측에서 환원시켜 물을 형성하는 방법.
  6. 제 5항에 있어서, 상기 산소 함유 가스가 공기, 산소 및 산소가 풍부한 공기중의 어느 하나를 포함하는 방법.
  7. 제 1항에 있어서, 무수 할로겐화수소의 일부가 셀과 접촉한 후에 미반응 상태이고 또 미반응 할로겐화수소의 일부를, 실질적으로 건조한 할로겐 가스로부터 분리하여 전기화학적 셀에 재활용하는 방법.
  8. 제 1항에 있어서, 상기 실질적으로 건조한 할로겐 가스를, 무수 할로겐화수소를 부생성물로 생성하는 합성공정에 재활용 하는 방법.
  9. 제 7항에 있어서, 상기 실질적으로 건조한 할로겐 가스를, 무수 할로겐화수소를 부생성물로 생성하는 합성공정에 재활용 하는 방법.
  10. ⒜ 실질적으로 무수 할로겐화수소 분자를 산화시켜 실질적으로 건조한 할로겐 가스 및 양성자를 생성하는 수단; ⒝ 산화수단이 양이온 수송 수단의 한면과 접촉하도록 배치된 양성자를 수송하기 위한 양이온 수송수단; 및 ⒞ 수송된 양성자를 환원시키기 위한 것으로 양이온 수송 수단의 다른 면과 접촉하도록 배치된 환원 수단을 포함하는, 실질적으로 무수 할로겐화수소로부터 실질적으로 건조한 할로겐 가스를 직접적으로 제조하기 위한 전기화학적 셀.
  11. 제 10항에 있어서, 실질적으로 무수 할로겐화수소 분자를 산화수단으로 수송하기 위한 수단을 추가로 더 포함하는 전기화학적 셀.
  12. 제 10항에 있어서, 상기 산화수단이 한개의 음극을 포함하고 또 상기 환원수단이 한개의 양극을 포함하는 방법.
  13. 제 12항에 있어서, 상기 양극과 음극이 가스 확산 전극을 포함하는 방법.
  14. 제 12항에 있어서, 상기 음극 및 양극이 양이온 수송막의 표면과 인접하도록 배치된 전기화학적 활성물질을 포함하는 전기화학적 셀.
  15. 제 14항에 있어서, 상기 전기화학적 활성물질의 박막이 막에 직접적으로 도포된 전기화학적 셀.
  16. 제 14항에 있어서, 상기 전기화학적 활성물질이 막에 증착된 전기화학적 셀.
  17. 제 14항에 있어서, 상기 전기화학적 활성물질이 지지체 물질상에 촉매 물질을 포함하는 전기화학적 셀.
  18. 제 17항에 있어서, 상기 지지체 물질이 탄소를 포함하는 전기화학적 셀.
  19. 제 17항에 있어서, 상기 촉매 물질이 백금, 루테늄, 오스뮴, 레늄, 로듐, 이리듐, 팔라듐, 금, 티탄 및 지르콘 및 이들의 산화물, 합금 및 혼합물 중 어느 하나를 포함하는 전기화학적 셀.
  20. 실질적으로 무수 할로겐화수소로부터 실질적으로 건조한 할로겐 가스를 직접적으로 제조하기 위한 방법에 있어서, 양이온 수송막, 막의 한면과 접촉하도록 배치된 양극 및 막의 다른 면과 접촉하도록 배치된 음극을 포함하는 전기화학적 셀에서 실질적으로 무수할로겐화수소 분자를 음극으로 수송하고 그곳에서 산화시켜 실질적으로 건조한 할로겐 가스 및 양성자를 생성하며, 양성자를 전가화학적 셀의 막을 통하여 수송하고 또 수송된 양성자를 양극에서 환원시키는 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.
