폐토너에 의한 오염을 방지하는 새로운 프로세스 카트리지를 제공하며, 이 새로운 프로세서 카트리지의 적절한 교환시기 경보에 따른 사용의 편의를 제공하고자 한다.
3. 발명의 해결방법의 요지
화상형성장치 본체에 내장된 메모리를 활용하여 프린팅이 완료될 때마다 인쇄매수 메모리를 1씩 증가시켜 인쇄매수 메모리가 특정 인쇄매수에 도달할 경우 프로세스 카트리지 교환 메시지를 출력하며, 새로운 프로세스 카트리지의 교환을 감지한 경우 인쇄매수 메모리를 초기화한다.
4. 발명의 중요한 용도
화상형성장치의 프로세스 카트리지를 적절한 시기에 교환할 수 있도록 경보해주기 위한 용도로 사용한다.

제3도는 제2도의 프로세스 카트리지 및 토너 카트리지를 본체에 장착한 레이져 빔 프린터의 기구적 상태도.
제4도는 본 발명의 제1실시예에 따른 레이져 빔 프린터의 개략적인 기능 블럭도.
제5도는 본 발명의 제1실시예에 따른 프로세스 카트리지의 교환시기 경보방법을 나타낸 흐름도.

Claims (7)

  1. 화상형성장치에 있어서, 본체와, 감광 드럼과 클리닝 블레이드 및 페토너 담지 공간을 하나의 유니트화하는 상기 본체에 장착 혹은 분리되는 프로세스 카트리지와, 소정의 메시지를 출력하는 표시수단과, 호스트 컴퓨터로부터 프린트 명령을 수신하여 프린트 동작을 제어하고, 원고 1매가 프린트 완료될 때마다 내장된 제1메모리에 프린트 완료매수를 1씩 증가 기록하여 상기 기록된 인쇄매수가 특정 인쇄매수에 도달한 경우에는 상기 표시수단으로 프로세스 카트리지 교환메세지를 출력하도록 제어하는 제어수단으로 구성됨을 특징으로 하는 프로세스 카트리지 교환시기 경보장치.
  2. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 제어수단이, 비디오 컨트롤러임을 특징으로 하는 프로세스 카트리지 교환시기 경보장치.
  3. 제1항에 있어서, 새로운 프로세스 카트리지 교환장착 정보를 입력하기 위한 수단을 더 구비하고, 상기 제어수단에 의한 상기 새로운 프로세스 카트리지 교환장착 인식시 상기 프린트 완료 매수를 초기화하도록 구성함을 특징으로 하는 프로세스 카트리지 교환시기 경보장치.
  4. 제2항에 있어서, 새로운 프로세스 카트리지 교환장착 정보를 입력하기 위한 수단을 더 구비하고, 상기 비디오 컨트롤러에서 상기 새로운 프로세스 카트리지 교환장착 정보를 인식후부터 상기 화상 형성장치가 호스트로부터의 프린트 명령에 대해 응답하도록 구성함을 특징으로 하는 프로세스 카트리지 교환시기 경보장치.
  5. 화상형성장치에 있어서, 본체와, 소정의 초기값을 갖는 제1메모리를 가지며, 감광 드럼과 클리닝 블레이드 및 폐토너 담지 공간을 하나의 유니트화하고, 상기 본체에 장착 혹은 분리되는 프로세스 카트리지와, 소정의 메시지를 출력하는 표시수단과 상기 초기값을 저장하는 제2메모리, 원고 1매가 프린트 완료될 때마다 프린트 완료 매수를 1씩 증가 기록하기 위한 제3메모리를 가지며, 상기 프린트 완료 매수가 특정량에 도달했는지 여부를 체크하여 특정량에 도달했을 경우 상기 프로세스 카트리지 메모리에 저장된 값을 변경하고 상기 표시수단으로 프로세스 카트리지 교환메세지를 출력하도록 제어하며, 상기 프로세스 카트리지 교환메세지가 출력된 후에는 상기 프로세스 카트리지 메모리에 저장된 값이 상기 제2메모리에 저장된 초기값과 같을 경우에만 호스트로부터의 프린트 명령을 수신하는 제어수단으로 구성됨을 특징으로 하는 프로세스 카트리지 교환시기 경보장치.
  6. 소정의 초기값을 갖는 제1메모리를 가지며, 감광 드럼과 클리닝 블레이드 및 폐토너 담지 공간을 하나의 유니트화하여 본체에 장착 혹은 분리되는 프로세스 카트리지와, 소정의 메시지를 출력하는 표시수단과, 상기 초기값을 저장하는 제2메모리, 프린트 완료 매수를 기록하기 위한 제3메모리를 구비한 화상형성장치의 프로세스 카트리지 교환시기 경보방법에 있어서, 1페이지의 프린팅을 완료하면 상기 프린트 완료 매수를 1 증가시키는 제1과정과, 상기 프린트 완료 매수가 일정한 분량에 이르면 상기 제1메모리를 1 증가시키는 제2과정과, 상기 프린트 완료 매수의 증가 후 상기 표시수단을 통해 상기 프로세스 카트리지 교환 요구 메시지를 출력하도록 제어하는 제3과정과, 상기 프로세스 카트리지 교환요구 메시지의 출력 후 상기 제1 및 제2메모리의 초기값을 비교하여 동일하면 상기 제3메모리를 초기화시키는 제4과정으로 이루어짐을 특징으로 하는 방법.
  7. 제6항에 있어서, 상기 제1 및 제2메모리의 초기값이 같지 않으면 프린트 작업을 중지하도록 제어하는 과정을 더 포함함을 특징으로 하는 방법.
