- 축 길이(L)를 갖고 시트 금속층(1; 10,11)으로 이루어진 금속 허니컴 바디(15)로서, 유체, 특히 내연기관으로부터 발생된 배기가스가 유입 단부측(12)으로부터 유출 단부측(13)까지의 유동 방향(S)으로 허니컴 바디(15)를 통과할 수 있도록 구성되며, 상기 시트 금속층(1; 10,11)의 적어도 일부 영역이 다수의 개구부(6)를 갖는 허니컴 바디에 있어서,상기 허니컴 바디(15)는 축 길이(L)의 55% 이상을 형성하며 20㎜ 이상의 방사상 크기(22)를 가진 부분 체적(T)내에서 모든 시트 금속층(1; 10,11)에 홀(6)을 갖고,상기 홀(6)은 각각 1 내지 120㎟의 홀 표면적(23)을 가지며,상기 부분 체적(T)에서, 상기 시트 금속층 표면적(24)은 홀이 없는 시트 금속층에 비해 10 내지 80%, 바람직하게는 35 내지 60% 만큼 홀(6)에 의해 감소되며,상기 부분 체적(T)은 허니컴 바디의 단부측(12,13)들로부터 각각 소정 거리(R2,R3)만큼 이격됨으로써 상기 홀(6)이 상기 시트 금속층의 단부측 엣지에 접촉하거나 그 엣지를 절단하지 않는 것을 특징으로 하는 허니컴 바디.
- 제 1 항에 있어서, 상기 부분 체적(T)이 전체 허니컴 바디 체적(W)의 60% 이상, 바람직하게는 90% 이상인 것을 특징으로 하는 허니컴 바디.

- 제 1 항 내지 제 8 항중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 상기 홀(6)이 서로로부터 0.5㎜의 최소거리에 각각 위치하고, 바람직하게 상기 홀들간의 모든 거리(D7)가 거의 동일한 것을 특징으로 하는 허니컴 바디.
- 제 1 항 내지 제 9 항중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 상기 허니컴 바디(15)가 서로 교호하는 평탄한 시트 금속층(10)과 파형 시트 금속층(11)을 포함하거나, 서로 교호하는 상이한 파형의 시트 금속층들을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 허니컴 바디.
- 제 1 항 내지 제 10 항중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 상기 허니컴 바디(15)가 200 내지 1000 cpsi(평방인치당 셀의 수)의 셀 밀도, 바람직하게 400 내지 800 cpsi의 셀 밀도를 가진 것을 특징으로 하는 허니컴 바디.
- 제 1 항 내지 제 11 항중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 상기 시트 금속층(1; 10,11)이 유동에 영향을 주는 부가적 미세구조(27), 특히 횡단구조 및/또는 돌출부 및/또는 유동 안내면을 가진 것을 특징으로 하는 허니컴 바디.
- 제 1 항 내지 제 12 항중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 상기 허니컴 바디(15)가 센서, 특히 람다 센서(9)를 수용하기 위한 공동(7)을 갖고, 상기 공동(7)이 부분 체적(T)내에 또는 부분 체적(T)의 하류에 배치된 것을 특징으로 하는 허니컴 바디.
- 제 13 항에 있어서, 상기 공동(7)과 인접한 시트 금속층(1; 10,11)의 엣지(8)는 공동(7)까지 1 내지 5㎜의 경로(8)상에 홀이 존재하지 않는 것을 특징으로 하는 허니컴 바디.
- 제 1 항 내지 제 14 항중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 상기 시트 금속층(1; 10,11)은 단부측(12,13)의 적어도 일부 영역에서의 결합에 의해, 바람직하게는 납땜에 의해 서로 연결되며, 특히 홀이 없는 엣지 영역(2,3)에서 연결된 것을 특징으로 하는 허니컴 바디.
- 제 1 항 내지 제 15 항중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 상기 허니컴 바디(15)가 관형 케이싱(14)내에 배치되며, 상기 관형 케이싱에 대하여 시트 금속층(1; 10,11)의 부착 영역(4,5)이 결합에 의해, 특히 납땜에 의해 내부적으로 고정되고, 상기 부분 체적(T)이 상기 관형 케이싱(14)에 접촉하지 않으며, 즉 상기 관형 케이싱(14)에 접촉하는 시트 금속층(1; 10,11)의 부착 영역(4,5)에 홀이 존재하지 않는 것을 특징으로 하는 허니컴 바디.
- 제 1 항 내지 제 16 항중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 상기 홀(6)의 최대 크기(R6)가 상기 구조 폭(A)보다 더 크고, 특히 각각의 크기(R6)가 상기 구조 폭(A)보다 더 큰 것을 특징으로 하는 허니컴 바디.
- 제 17 항에 있어서, 상기 하나 이상의 부분 체적(T)에서 모든 홀(6)이 상기 구조 폭(A)보다 더 큰 크기(R6)를 가진 것을 특징으로 하는 허니컴 바디.
- 제 17 항 또는 제 18 항에 있어서, 상기 홀(6)의 크기(R6)가 상기 구조 폭(A)보다 2배이상, 바람직하게는 4배, 특히 6배인 것을 특징으로 하는 허니컴 바디.
- 제 1 항 내지 제 19 항중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 상기 홀(6)중 적어도 일부가 슬롯으로서 설계되고, 상기 슬롯의 최대 크기(R6)가 각각의 경우에서 전용 주축(30)의 방향으로 연장되며, 슬롯으로서 설계된 상기 홀(6)은 상기 허니컴 바디가 강성이 서로 다른 영역(32,33,34)들을 갖도록 배치되는 것을 특징으로 하는 허니컴 바디.
- 제 20 항에 있어서, 상기 슬롯으로서 설계된 홀(6)은 원주(37) 및/또는 반경(36) 및/또는 중심축(35) 방향에서 서로에 대하여 적어도 부분적으로 오프셋되고, 및/또는 그들의 주축(30)에 대하여 소정 각도(31)로 배열된 것을 특징으로 하는 허니컴 바디.
