Claims (36)
- a) 발광 픽셀의 어레이 -각 픽셀은 상이한 컬러의 빛을 방출하는 복수의 컬러 발광 소자와 백색광을 방출하는 적어도 하나의 추가 발광 소자를 갖되, 상기 추가 발광 소자의 전력 효율은 상기 컬러 발광 소자 중 적어도 하나의 컬러 발광 소자의 전력 효율보다 높음- 와,b) 휘도 제어 신호를 생성하는 수단과,c) 컬러 디스플레이 신호와 상기 휘도 제어 신호에 응답하여 상기 백색 발광 소자(들)를 구동시키는 백색 디스플레이 신호를 생성하는 수단을 포함하고,상기 각 픽셀은 3개의 컬러 발광 소자와 1개의 백색 발광 소자를 포함하는컬러 디스플레이.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 휘도 제어 신호를 생성하는 수단은 주변 조도를 감지하기 위해 배치된 포토센서(photosensor)를 포함하는컬러 디스플레이.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 휘도 제어 신호를 생성하는 수단은 조작자가 제어하는 입력 장치를 포 함하는컬러 디스플레이.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 백색 디스플레이 신호를 생성하는 수단은 하나 이상의 룩 업 테이블을 포함하는컬러 디스플레이.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 컬러 발광 소자는 적색광, 녹색광 및 청색광을 생성하는컬러 디스플레이.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 백색광을 방출하는 추가 발광 소자는 상기 컬러 발광 소자 중 어느 것보다도 큰컬러 디스플레이.

- 제 2 항에 있어서,상기 포토센서와 상기 발광 소자는 공통 기판상에 형성되는컬러 디스플레이.
- 제 8 항에 있어서,상기 백색 디스플레이 신호를 생성하는 수단도 상기 공통 기판상에 형성되는컬러 디스플레이.
- 청구항 제 1 항 내지 제 9 항 중의 어느 한 항에 따른 컬러 디스플레이 상에 컬러 이미지를 디스플레이하는 방법으로서,a) 발광 픽셀의 어레이를 제공하는 단계 -각 픽셀은 상이한 컬러의 빛을 방출하는 복수의 컬러 발광 소자와 백색광을 방출하는 적어도 하나의 추가 발광 소자를 갖되, 상기 추가 발광 소자의 전력 효율은 상기 컬러 발광 소자 중 적어도 하나의 전력 효율보다 높음- 와,b) 휘도 제어 신호를 생성하는 단계와,c) 컬러 디스플레이 신호와 상기 휘도 제어 신호에 응답하여 백색 디스플레이 신호를 생성하는 단계와,d) 상기 백색 디스플레이 신호로 상기 백색 발광 소자(들)를 구동시키고, 상기 컬러 디스플레이 신호로 상기 컬러 발광 소자들을 구동시키는 단계를 포함하는컬러 이미지 디스플레이 방법.
