Claims (8)
- 加熱されると熱電子を放出する熱電子放出部材と、
電磁波を利用して前記熱電子放出部材を加熱する加熱装置と、
前記熱電子放出部材の近傍に、前記加熱装置が発生させる電磁波による電界を集中させる電界集中部材とを備え、
前記加熱装置により前記熱電子放出部材を加熱して熱電子を放出させると共に、前記電界集中部材により前記熱電子放出部材の近傍に電磁波による電界を集中させることで、前記熱電子放出部材の近傍にプラズマを生成する
ことを特徴とするプラズマ生成装置。 - 請求項1において、
前記加熱装置は、前記熱電子放出部材が設けられた空間に電磁波を放射し、
前記熱電子放出部材は、前記加熱装置が放射する電磁波を吸収して発熱する電磁波吸収体と、該電磁波吸収体と一体に設けられ、発熱した前記電磁波吸収体により加熱されると熱電子を放出する熱電子放出体とを備えている
ことを特徴とするプラズマ生成装置。 - 請求項2において、
前記電磁波吸収体は、前記加熱装置が放射する電磁波に共振して、前記電界集中部材として機能する受信アンテナを構成している
ことを特徴とするプラズマ生成装置。 - 請求項1において、
前記加熱装置は、交流電力が供給される加熱コイルを備え、前記加熱コイルの内側に位置する前記熱電子放出部材を誘導加熱する
ことを特徴とするプラズマ生成装置。 - 請求項1から請求項4の何れか1項に記載のプラズマ生成装置と、
燃焼室が形成された内燃機関本体とを備え、
前記熱電子放出部材及び前記電界集中部材は、前記内燃機関本体における前記燃焼室の区画面に設けられ、
前記プラズマ生成装置は、前記加熱装置により前記熱電子放出部材を加熱して熱電子を放出させると共に、前記電界集中部材により前記熱電子放出部材の近傍に電磁波による電界を集中させることで、前記燃焼室における前記熱電子放出部材の近傍にプラズマを生成する
ことを特徴とする内燃機関。 - 請求項5において、
前記プラズマ生成装置は、前記区画面において互いに異なる領域に配置された複数の熱電子放出部材を備え、前記複数の熱電子放出部材の近傍にプラズマを生成する
ことを特徴とする内燃機関。 - 請求項5又は請求項6において、
前記プラズマ生成装置は、前記内燃機関本体の始動の際に、前記燃焼室で混合気を燃焼させる燃焼サイクルの開始前に前記熱電子放出部材の加熱を開始し、前記燃焼サイクル中に前記燃焼室でプラズマを生成する
ことを特徴とする内燃機関。 - 加熱されると熱電子を放出する熱電子放出部材と、
交流電源と、該交流電源から交流電力が供給される加熱コイルとを備え、前記加熱コイルの内側に位置する前記熱電子放出部材を誘導加熱する加熱装置とを備え、
前記加熱装置により前記熱電子放出部材を加熱して熱電子を放出させることで、前記加熱コイルの内側にプラズマを生成する
ことを特徴とするプラズマ生成装置。
