Claims (6)
- 電磁波を発生させる電磁波発生装置と、
前記電磁波発生装置から供給された電磁波を対象空間へ放射するためのリング状又はC字状に形成された放射アンテナと、
前記放射アンテナに近接し、前記放射アンテナから電磁波が放射されている期間に亘って、前記放射アンテナに近接する近接部位の電圧が相対的に高くなるように接地されるとともに、棒状に形成され、前記放射アンテナの外側において前記近接部位から前記放射アンテナから離れる側に延びている複数の受信アンテナと、
前記複数の受信アンテナの近接部位を電気的に接続する接続導体とを備え、
前記放射アンテナから電磁波を放射することにより、前記対象空間における前記放射アンテナの近傍および前記近接部位の近傍にプラズマを生成する
ことを特徴とするプラズマ生成装置。 - 請求項1に記載のプラズマ生成装置おいて、
各受信アンテナは、前記放射アンテナから電磁波が放射されている期間に亘って、前記近接部位の電圧が相対的に高くなるように、接地回路を介して接地される一方、
各受信アンテナの接地回路には、スイッチ素子が設けられている
ことを特徴とするプラズマ生成装置。 - 請求項2に記載のプラズマ生成装置おいて、
前記複数の受信アンテナは、前記スイッチ素子を制御することにより順番に接地される
ことを特徴とするプラズマ生成装置。 - 請求項1乃至3の何れか1つに記載のプラズマ生成装置おいて、
前記放射アンテナから電磁波が放射される期間、又はその期間の直前に、前記対象空間において放電を生じさせる放電装置を備えている
ことを特徴とするプラズマ生成装置。 - 請求項1乃至4の何れか1つに記載のプラズマ生成装置と、
燃焼室の中央部に点火プラグが設けられた内燃機関本体とを備え、
前記燃焼室の天井面において、前記放射アンテナが前記点火プラグを囲うように設けられ、前記複数の受信アンテナが前記放射アンテナの外側に放射状に配置されている
ことを特徴とする内燃機関。 - 燃焼室が形成された内燃機関本体と、
リング状又はC字状に形成された放射アンテナから前記燃焼室へ電磁波を放射する電磁波放射装置とを備え、
前記燃焼室へ放射した電磁波により混合気の燃焼を促進させる内燃機関であって、
前記放射アンテナに近接し、前記放射アンテナから電磁波が放射されている期間に亘って、前記放射アンテナに近接する近接部位の電圧が相対的に高くなるように接地されるとともに、棒状に形成され、前記放射アンテナの外側において前記近接部位から前記放射アンテナから離れる側に延びている複数の受信アンテナと、
前記複数の受信アンテナの近接部位を電気的に接続する接続導体とを備え、
前記燃焼室において火炎の伝播中に、前記放射アンテナから電磁波を放射することにより、前記燃焼室における前記放射アンテナの近傍および前記近接部位の近傍に、前記燃焼室において電界強度が相対的に強い強電界領域を生成する
ことを特徴とする内燃機関。
