Abstract
Description
この従来の製造方法では、部材の側部同士の接合面積を大きくして、側部の接合強度を高めている。しかしながら、このような短冊状部材の側部同士を自動で精度よく連続して接合するのは困難である。そのため、製造時に生じる各問題に対処して、接合精度の高いタイヤ構成部材を安定して製造する具体的な装置や方法の提案が求められている。
また、本発明は、短冊状部材を配置する毎にドラムを回転させて複数の短冊状部材をドラム周方向に順に配置し、隣接する短冊状部材の側部同士を接合してタイヤ構成部材を製造する製造方法であって、一方の側部に相対的に厚さが薄い接合部が設けられた短冊状部材をドラムへ供給する供給工程と、複数の短冊状部材を、互いに一方の側部の接合部と他方の側部とを重ね合わせてドラムに順に配置する配置工程と、各短冊状部材の両側部間の幅を測定する測定工程と、測定工程での幅の測定結果に基づいてドラムを回転させ、配置工程で重ね合わせて配置する側部同士の位置を合わせる位置合わせ工程と、を有することを特徴とする。
本実施形態のタイヤ構成部材の製造装置(以下、製造装置という)は、シート部材である短冊状部材をドラムに複数配置し、ドラム周方向に隣接する短冊状部材の側部同士を接合する。また、製造装置は、複数の短冊状部材の側部同士を接合して、タイヤ各部を構成するシート状のタイヤ構成部材を製造する。その際、製造装置は、例えば、並列した複数のコードをゴムで被覆した短冊状部材(ゴム被覆コード)を複数接合してカーカスプライを製造し、或いは、コードを有さない短冊状のゴム部材を複数接合してゴムシートを製造する。以下、タイヤ構成部材として、タイヤ1周分の長さのカーカスプライを製造する例を説明する。
製造装置1は、図示のように、軸線方向が水平なドラム2と、ドラム2へ短冊状部材90を供給する供給手段(図示せず)とを備えている。また、製造装置1は、短冊状部材90をドラム2に配置する配置手段10と、ドラム2に配置した短冊状部材90の幅方向の側部同士を接合する接合手段40とを備えている。配置手段10と接合手段40は、ドラム2の上方で、ドラム周方向に所定距離を隔てて配置されている。
短冊状部材90は、図示のように、その長手方向に延びる複数のコード91を幅方向(図2Aでは左右方向)に所定間隔で並列させ、それらの両面を未加硫ゴムで被覆して所定厚さに形成される。ただし、この短冊状部材90は、幅方向の一方(図2Aでは右方)の側部92に沿って、その全体に亘り、他の部分よりも相対的に厚さが薄い接合部(薄肉部)92Aが設けられている。短冊状部材90の接合部92Aは、ゴムのみからなる耳ゴムであり、短冊状部材90のドラム2側となる一方(図2Aの下方)の面に連続して形成される。また、接合部92Aは、短冊状部材90の他方の面との間に段差を有し、短冊状部材90の幅方向に所定長さ突出する。
配置手段10は、図示のように、短冊状部材90の移動経路に沿って配置された3つのガイドロール11、12、13と、短冊状部材90の両側部92、93の位置を規定する位置規定部材14と、1つのガイドロール11を下方に付勢する付勢手段(図示せず)とを備えている。配置手段10は、ガイドロール11、12、13と位置規定部材14とにより、位置を規定した短冊状部材90を、所定の張力を付加しつつドラム2に案内する。
短冊状部材90の配置時には、図示のように、ドラム2の一端側(図4Aでは左端側)で、切断手段80により切断された短冊状部材90の先端部を、走行ヘッド20から、配置ロール23よりも前方側に幾分突出させる。また、走行ヘッド20内の固定手段22で短冊状部材90を固定する。その状態で、走行ヘッド20を移動(図4B参照)させて、短冊状部材90をドラム軸線方向に沿って引き出し、走行ヘッド20を押圧手段16側の進出限位置で停止させる。続いて、押圧手段16により、短冊状部材90の先端部をドラム2の外周面に押圧(圧着)して固定する。また、固定手段22による短冊状部材90の固定を解除し、配置ロール23を下降させて短冊状部材90に押し付け、配置ロール23により短冊状部材90をドラム2に押圧する。
位置規定部材14は、図示のように、両側の側壁14A間に短冊状部材90を収容する凹溝14Bを有し、短冊状部材90を凹溝14B内で移動させて案内する。これに対し、測定手段3は、凹溝14Bの幅方向中央部上方に配置される。測定手段3は、短冊状部材90の幅(ドラム周方向に対応する方向の幅)を測定可能な市販の測定センサ(ここでは、短冊状部材90の幅を非接触で測定するラインセンサ)であり、そのセンサ面を短冊状部材90に向けて配置される。測定手段3は、投光手段から短冊状部材90に対して一次元光を照射し、その反射光を受光手段で受光する。測定手段3は、反射光の状態から短冊状部材90の幅を算出し、この算出した幅の測定値をA/D変換等して後述する制御装置に出力する。
接合手段40は、図示のように、短冊状部材90の接合する側部92、93に沿って延びるフレーム41と、フレーム41に連結されてフレーム41をドラム半径方向に移動させるピストン・シリンダ機構42とを備えている。また、接合手段40は、フレーム41の下面に、側部92、93に対向する突合せ手段50を備えている。
突合せ手段50は、側部92、93を突合せて接合するための接合機構であり、図7に示すように、ベースプレート51と、対をなす左右の引寄部材(揺動爪)52と、ベースプレート51と各引寄部材52間に配置された圧力容器53とを有する。対をなす引寄部材52は、それぞれドラム軸線方向(図7Bでは上下方向)に沿って等間隔で複数、かつ、側部92、93の全長に亘り互い違いに配置されている。また、対をなす引寄部材52は、それぞれ近接端側を相手の間に位置させて、ドラム軸線方向に沿って交互に配置される。
ここでは、図示のように、製造装置1は、ドラム2に加えて、ドラム2の外周に形成したタイヤ構成部材9が転写される回転可能な被転写体4を備えている。また、製造装置1は、ドラム2と被転写体4とを接近及び離間させる移動機構(図示せず)と、被転写体4の回転駆動手段(図示せず)とを備え、それらによりタイヤ構成部材9の転写手段を構成している。被転写体4は、タイヤ構成部材9を転写する、例えば円筒状の被転写ドラムや未加硫タイヤの成形ドラム、剛体コア、或いは、各ドラムや剛体コアに配置したタイヤ構成部材や中間成形体である。被転写体4は、回転駆動手段により駆動されて軸線周りに所定の回転速度で回転して任意の回転角で停止する。
本発明の効果を確認するため、以上説明した製造装置1により、ドラム2に複数の短冊状部材90を配置し、その側部92、93同士を接合して、タイヤ構成部材9(ここでは、カーカスプライ)を製造した。まず、タイヤ構成部材9の各接合位置の接合状態を観察した。その結果、各接合位置で、短冊状部材90の一方の側部92の接合部92Aに他方の側部93が重ね合わせて配置され、それらがエア入りや隙間等なく接合されていることが確認できた。また、接合強度を確認するため、製造後のタイヤ構成部材9を、長手方向(短冊状部材90の側部92、93に直交する方向)に引っ張り、約2倍の長さに伸長させた。その結果、いずれの側部92、93も外れることなく接合した状態に維持されていた。これより、接合した短冊状部材90の側部92、93に高い接合強度が得られることが分かった。
Claims (9)
- 短冊状部材を配置する毎に回転して複数の短冊状部材が周方向に順に配置されるドラムを備え、ドラム周方向に隣接する短冊状部材の側部同士を接合してタイヤ構成部材を製造する製造装置であって、
一方の側部に相対的に厚さが薄い接合部が設けられた短冊状部材をドラムへ供給する供給手段と、
複数の短冊状部材を、互いに一方の側部の接合部と他方の側部とを重ね合わせてドラムに順に配置する配置手段と、
各短冊状部材の両側部間の幅を測定する測定手段と、
測定手段による幅の測定結果に基づいてドラムを回転させ、配置手段により重ね合わせて配置する側部同士の位置を合わせる回転制御手段と、
を備えたことを特徴とするタイヤ構成部材の製造装置。 - 請求項1に記載されたタイヤ構成部材の製造装置において、
ドラムに配置した短冊状部材の側部同士を接合する接合手段を備えたことを特徴とするタイヤ構成部材の製造装置。 - 請求項1又は2に記載されたタイヤ構成部材の製造装置において、
回転制御手段が、配置手段による各短冊状部材の配置毎に当該短冊状部材の測定幅に応じてドラムを回転させ、配置後の短冊状部材の側部を、配置手段による次の短冊状部材の側部の配置位置に合わせて配置することを特徴とするタイヤ構成部材の製造装置。 - 請求項1ないし3のいずれかに記載されたタイヤ構成部材の製造装置において、
測定手段が、各短冊状部材の両側部間の接合部を除いた幅を測定することを特徴とするタイヤ構成部材の製造装置。 - 請求項1ないし4のいずれかに記載されたタイヤ構成部材の製造装置において、
ドラムの外周に形成したタイヤ構成部材が転写される回転可能な被転写体と、
ドラム上のタイヤ構成部材のドラム周方向に沿う長さを取得する手段と、
タイヤ構成部材の取得した長さと設定された目標長さとを比較する比較手段と、
ドラム上のタイヤ構成部材と被転写体とを接触させてドラムと被転写体とを回転させ、タイヤ構成部材をドラムから被転写体に転写する転写手段と、
転写手段による転写時に、比較手段の比較結果に基づいてドラムと被転写体とを互いに異なる回転周速度で回転させ、被転写体に転写するタイヤ構成部材を目標長さに向けて変形させる長さ調整手段と、
を備えたことを特徴とするタイヤ構成部材の製造装置。 - 短冊状部材を配置する毎にドラムを回転させて複数の短冊状部材をドラム周方向に順に配置し、隣接する短冊状部材の側部同士を接合してタイヤ構成部材を製造する製造方法であって、
一方の側部に相対的に厚さが薄い接合部が設けられた短冊状部材をドラムへ供給する供給工程と、
複数の短冊状部材を、互いに一方の側部の接合部と他方の側部とを重ね合わせてドラムに順に配置する配置工程と、
各短冊状部材の両側部間の幅を測定する測定工程と、
測定工程での幅の測定結果に基づいてドラムを回転させ、配置工程で重ね合わせて配置する側部同士の位置を合わせる位置合わせ工程と、
を有することを特徴とするタイヤ構成部材の製造方法。 - 請求項6に記載されたタイヤ構成部材の製造方法において、
位置合わせ工程が、配置工程での各短冊状部材の配置毎に当該短冊状部材の測定幅に応じてドラムを回転させ、配置後の短冊状部材の側部を、配置工程での次の短冊状部材の側部の配置位置に合わせて配置する工程を有することを特徴とするタイヤ構成部材の製造方法。 - 請求項6又は7に記載されたタイヤ構成部材の製造方法において、
測定工程が、各短冊状部材の両側部間の接合部を除いた幅を測定することを特徴とするタイヤ構成部材の製造方法。 - 請求項6ないし8のいずれかに記載されたタイヤ構成部材の製造方法において、
ドラムの外周に形成したタイヤ構成部材のドラム周方向に沿う長さを取得する工程と、
タイヤ構成部材の取得した長さと設定された目標長さとを比較する工程と、
ドラム上のタイヤ構成部材と被転写体とを接触させてドラムと被転写体とを回転させ、タイヤ構成部材をドラムから被転写体に転写する工程と、
被転写体への転写時に、タイヤ構成部材の長さ同士の比較結果に基づいてドラムと被転写体とを互いに異なる回転周速度で回転させ、被転写体に転写するタイヤ構成部材を目標長さに向けて変形させる工程と、
を有することを特徴とするタイヤ構成部材の製造方法。
