Description
図9は、このようなタイヤ構成部材の接合の原理を模式的に示した斜視図である。
この従来のタイヤ構成部材の接合装置では、ゴム材料でできた所定長さのタイヤ構成部材100を成形ドラムに巻回して端部101、102同士を上下に重ね合わせ、重ね合わせた部分を転動する押圧ロール110で押圧する。これによって、タイヤ構成部材100の端部101、102同士を、未加硫ゴムの粘着性を利用して接合してカーカスプライなどの筒状体を構成している。
本発明は、ゴム部材の端部を、一方を上側に他方を下側に重ね合わせて、前記ゴム部材の端部同士を接合するための接合方法であって、前記ゴム部材の端部表面に対して傾斜した傾斜軸の回りで回転する押圧ロールの転動面を前記重ね合わせたゴム部材の上側端部に押し付ける工程と、前記押圧ロールの転動面をゴム部材の上側端部に押し付けた状態で転動させる工程と、前記押圧ロールに隣接して回転可能に取り付けられた側押圧ロールが、前記押圧ロールが上側のゴム部材に当接して延伸させる際に、下側のゴム部材に当接してその端部が前記上側端部と一緒に動かないように保持する工程と、を有し、前記押圧ロールの転動面を前記ゴム部材の上側端部に押し付けて転動させることにより、前記上側端部を延伸させ、接合する端部間の接合面積を増大させて接合を行うゴム部材の接合方法である。
まず、本接合装置で用いる押圧ロール(本実施形態では円盤状ロール)について説明する。
図1は円盤状ロールを示し、図1Aはその斜視図、図1Bはその正面図であり、図2Aは円盤状ロールの平面図、図2Bは図2Aの線L1と直交する方向からみた側面図である。
円盤状ロール45は、図2Bに示すように、後述する接合装置の支持体45aに固定された傾斜軸であるロール軸46に軸受47を介して回転自在に支承されている。
そのため、従来のように、タイヤ構成部材70の端部同士を重ね合わせた状態で、円筒状ロールを上側の端部71上に押圧転動させただけでは必要な接合強度が得られない場合であっても、本円盤状ロール45を用いることで必要な接合強度を得ることができる。また、接合前における前記端部71、72の重ね代が同じ場合には、より大きな接合力を得ることができる。
また、前記端部71、72の重なり幅は、円盤状ロール45の転動面45bの幅(押し当て幅)よりも小さくすることで、前記端部71にせん断力を作用して延伸させるときに、前記端部71が一様に延伸される。
図3は、この接合装置の構成を模式的に示す要部正面図である。
接合装置1は、図示のように、軸線が水平方向に保持された円筒状の成形ドラム2と、成形ドラム2の軸線方向に並べて配置された、タイヤ構成部材70を接合する一対の接合ユニット30とを備えている。また、接合装置1は、一対の接合ユニット30を成形ドラム2の軸線方向及び半径方向(図1では左右及び上下方向)に移動させる移動手段10を備え、移動手段10が、成形ドラム2の外周面に沿って上方に配置されている。
タイヤ構成部材70は、それ自体は周知のものであり、有機繊維やスチール製のコードを未加硫ゴムで被覆して形成され、表面のゴム内に、複数のコード(図示せず)が、成形ドラム2の軸線方向に沿って延びるように並列して配置されている。
なお、接合装置1は、成形ドラム2の軸線方向の中央部CLを挟んで左右対称に構成されている。そこで、以下の説明は、中央部CLを挟んだ一方側(図の左側)について行う。
移動手段10は、このフレームによりネジ軸12を回転自在に支持するとともに、ネジ軸12に固定した従動プーリ14と、モータ13の回転軸13Aに固定した駆動プーリ15に無端状のベルト16を架け渡している。また、移動手段10は、これら駆動プーリ15、ベルト16及び従動プーリ14を介して、モータ13の回転動力をネジ軸12に伝達し、ネジ軸12を軸線回りの両方向に所定速度で回転させる。
取付ブラケット17は、ネジ軸12が貫通して螺合するボールネジなどで構成するネジ伝動機構により駆動される。即ち、この取付ブラケット17は、ネジ孔と、ガイドレール11が摺動自在に貫通する案内孔とを有し、ネジ軸12の回転に伴い、ガイドレール11により案内されて、成形ドラム2の軸線方向の両方向に所定速度で移動する。
接合ユニット30には、図4に示すように、浮き上がり防止ロール32、ジッパロール40、押圧ロールである円盤状ロール45が、枠体31内に接合方向の前方側(左側)から後方側(右側)に向かって順に配置されており、円盤状ロール45に隣接して(図では下側に)、他の押圧ロールである小径の側押圧ロール(好ましくはリング状である)48が取り付けられている。また、円盤状ロール45の後方側にさらに他の押圧ロールである後部押圧ロール(本実施形態ではリング状ロール)50が配置されている。
浮き上がり防止ロール32は、タイヤ構成部材70の両端部71、72に押し付けられて転動しながら両端部71、72の上下に重ね合わさった部分及びその近傍を成形ドラム2に対して押さえる。
ジッパロール40は、これら突起41と凹みが周方向に沿って互い違いに配置され、突起41の一部が他方側の突起41間(凹み)に入り込んで互いに噛み合い、これにより同期して等速度で回転する。
ジッパロール40はその回転移動中、各突条がタイヤ構成部材70の端部71、72に当接して、端部71、72の所定範囲に押し付けられて端部71、72を互いに引き寄せてタイヤ構成部材の弛み等をなくし、成形ドラム2上に正しく位置決めする。
ロール軸46は、既に述べたように、タイヤ構成部材の前記端部71に対して図示のように傾斜している。
円盤状ロール45に隣接して側押圧ロール48が円盤状ロール45と同じ支持体45aに固定されたロール軸48aに対し、軸受47を介して回転可能に取り付けられている。側押圧ロール48は、その円周面には複数の溝が等間隔で設けられており、円盤状ロール45の図5において右側つまり外側(接合端側)に並んで配置されている。
したがって、図3の状態で、ピストン・シリンダ機構18のピストンロッド18Pを作動させて固定部材60を下降すると、まず、浮き上がり防止ロール32、ジッパロール40及び円盤状ロール45がタイヤ構成部材70の上側端部71に当接する。その後、これらの付勢手段62による付勢力に抗して固定部材60をさらに下降させ、リング状ロール50が前記端部71に当接したとき前記端部71のゴム材料にリング状ロール50を押し込むように加圧して下降を停止する。
この場合、リング状ロール50の押圧力はピストンロッド18Pの押し下げ力が直接作用するため、その他の付勢部材Rを介在させたロール等32、40、45よりも大きい。
制御装置は、図示しない、例えばマイクロプロセッサ(MPU)と、各種制御処理のためのプログラムを格納するROM(Read Only Memory)と、MPUが直接アクセスするデータを一時的に格納するRAM(Random Access Memory)等を備えたマイクロコンピュータを有する。また、制御装置は、接続手段を介して装置各部が接続されており、接続された各部を制御して予め設定されたタイミングや条件で関連動作させて、接合のための各動作を実行させる。
この接合したタイヤ構成部材70に、他のタイヤ構成部材を配置する等して、所定形状及び構造の未加硫タイヤが成形され、未加硫タイヤを加硫成型して各種のタイヤが製造される。
また、本発明の実施形態として、成形ドラム2上でタイヤ構成部材70を接合す接合装置に例を採って説明したが、この接合装置1を使用することで、平面状の支持体やコンベヤ等、成形ドラム2以外の支持体上でも、同様にタイヤ構成部材70を接合できる。
図7は、成型ドラム上で端部同士を接合して形成したカーカスプライを同じ引っ張り力で引張したときの、本発明の実施品と従来品の引っ張り強さを、カーカスプライに埋設されているコード間隔の延びと、接合部の接着範囲(成型ドラムの軸方向の長さ)との関係を表したグラフである。
図中、○は従来品を、また、×は本発明の実施品を示す。
図7及び8から明らかなように、本発明の実施品では接合範囲が従来品よりも大きく、また、引っ張ったときのコードC間の間隔が従来品よりも少ないこと、つまり引っ張り強さが優れていることが示されている。
Claims (9)
- ゴム部材の端部を、一方を上側に他方を下側に重ね合わせて、前記ゴム部材の端部同士を接合するための接合装置であって、
前記ゴム部材の端部表面に対して傾斜した傾斜軸の回りで回転する押圧ロールと、
前記押圧ロールの転動面を前記重ね合わせたゴム部材の上側端部に押し付ける手段と、
前記押圧ロールの転動面をゴム部材の上側端部に押し付けた状態で転動させる移動装置と、
前記押圧ロールに隣接して回転可能に取り付けられ、前記押圧ロールが上側のゴム部材に当接してその端部を延伸させる際に、下側のゴム部材に当接してその端部が前記上側端部と一緒に動かないように保持する側押圧ロールと、
を有し、
前記押圧ロールの転動面を前記ゴム部材の上側端部に押し付けて転動させることにより、前記上側端部を延伸させ、接合する端部間の接合面積を増大させて接合を行うゴム部材の接合装置。 - 請求項1に記載されたゴム部材の接合装置において、
前記押圧ロールは回転中心に向かって傾斜した前記転動面を備えた円盤状ロールであるゴム部材の接合装置。 - 請求項2に記載されたゴム部材の接合装置において、
前記ゴム部材の前記端部の重ね合わせ幅は、前記円盤状ロールの転動面の幅よりも小さいゴム部材の接合装置。 - 請求項3に記載されたゴム部材の接合装置において、
前記重ね合わせ幅は、0.1mm〜10mmであるゴム部材の接合装置。 - 請求項2に記載されたゴム部材の接合装置において、
前記円盤状ロールの前記ゴム部材に当接する転動面が粗面加工されているゴム部材の接合装置。 - 請求項2に記載されたゴム部材の接合装置において、

前記ゴム部材の端部表面に対して傾斜した傾斜軸の回りで回転する押圧ロールの転動面を前記重ね合わせたゴム部材の上側端部に押し付ける工程と、前記押圧ロールの転動面をゴム部材の上側端部に押し付けた状態で転動させる工程と、
前記押圧ロールに隣接して回転可能に取り付けられた側押圧ロールが、前記押圧ロールが上側のゴム部材に当接して延伸させる際に、下側のゴム部材に当接してその端部が前記上側端部と一緒に動かないように保持する工程と、
を有し、
前記押圧ロールの転動面を前記ゴム部材の上側端部に押し付けて転動させることにより、前記上側端部を延伸させ、接合する端部間の接合面積を増大させて接合を行うゴム部材の接合方法。
