Description

【発明の詳細な説明】
本発明は汎用グリース組成物に関し、詳しくは
巾広い温度範囲において安定性のすぐれた汎用グ
リース組成物に関する。 グリースは冷凍機、車両、回転軸受、ポンプな
ど様々の機器に潤滑用、サビ止め用等に用いられ
ている。使用される機器により、使用温度範囲は
著しく異なるものとなる。例えば冷凍機に用いた
場合、冷媒により−40〜−50℃程度の低温に冷却
され、また車両の軸受に用いた場合、ブレーキの
作動などにより180〜200℃の高温にさらされる。
従来、潤滑基油の特性上、高温および低温におけ
るJIS規格、例えばJIS Ｋ 2220転がり軸受用グ
リース１〜３種の高温における蒸発量と極低温に
おけるトルクを同時に満たすグリース組成物を製
造することはできなかつた。そのため、使用機
器、目的により異なりグリースを使用しなければ
ならず、また広い温度範囲における使用に問題が
あつた。 そこで、本発明者らは高温から低温までの広い
範囲にわたつて使用可能なグリースを開発すべく
研究した結果、特定の潤滑油基油に金属セツケン
等の増稠剤を配合してなるグリース組成物が上記
目的を満たすことを見い出し、本発明を完成し
た。 すなわち、本発明は流動点が−35℃以下、40℃
における動粘度が５〜50センチストークスであ
り、かつナフテン系炭化水素およびパラフイン系
炭化水素の合計量が95重量％以上である深冷脱ロ
ウ基油を50重量％以上の割合で含有する潤滑油基
油100重量部に対し、金属セツケン、尿素系増稠
剤、ベントン系増稠剤およびシリコーン系増稠剤
から選ばれた１種以上の増稠剤３〜30重量部を配
合してなる汎用グリース組成物である。 本発明において潤滑油基油としては、流動点が
−35℃以下、40℃における動粘度が５〜50センチ
ストークス（cSt）であり、かつナフテン系炭化
水素（％CN）およびパラフイン系炭化水素（％
CP）の合計量が95重量％以上である深冷脱ロウ
基油を主成分、つまり50重量％以上の割合で含有
するものを使用する。ここで深冷脱ロウ基油の流
動点が−35℃を超えると低温トルクが大きくなり
使用することができない。また40℃における動粘
度が5cSt未満では蒸発減量が大きく高温用に使用
することができず、一方、500cStを超えると動力
損失が大きく、またグリース製造が困難であつて
使用することができない。さらに％CNと％CPの
合計量が95重量％未満であると低温、特に極低温
のトルクが大きくなつて充分な性能が得られな
い。この深冷脱ロウ基油はヨウ素価が７以下、イ
オウ10ppm以下、窒素分5ppm以下のものが好ま
しい。この深冷脱ロウ基油は中間基原油からの潤
滑油留分を水素化処理、減圧蒸留、脱ロウ等の操
作を行なうことによつて製造することができる。 潤滑油基油として上記深冷脱ロウ基油のほかに
合成油などを配合したものを用いることができ
る。合成油としてはポリオレフイン、ポリグリコ
ールエステル、ポリオールエステル、リン酸エス
テル、シリコーンオイル、アルキルジフエニル、
二塩基酸エステルなどがある。これらの中では二
塩基酸エステルが好適であり、具体的にはジオク
チルセバケート、ジオクチルアゼレート、ジオク
チルアジペートなどが挙げられる。また、ナフテ
ン系のマシン油なども配合することができる。 次に増稠剤とは稠度を向上させる役割を果すも
のであり、金属セツケン、尿素系増稠剤、ベント
ン系増稠剤およびシリコーン系増稠剤から選ばれ
た１種以上のものを用いる。金属セツケンか通常
グリースの製造に用いられるものであればよく、
具体的には脂肪酸、樹脂酸、ナフテン酸などとリ
チウム、ナトリウム、カルシウム、アルミニウ
ム、バリウム、鉛などの金属との塩が挙げられ
る。例えば、ステアリン酸リチウム、12−ヒドロ
キシステアリン酸リチウム、酢酸カルシウム、ス
テアリン酸カリシウム、パルミチン酸カルシウ
ム、オレイン酸カルシウム、これらの混合物およ
びコンプレツクスセツケンなどがあげられる。そ
の他尿素系、ベントン系、シリコーン系の増稠剤
も単独で、あるいは金属セツケンと組合せて使用
することができる。 本発明の汎用グリース組成物における潤滑油基
油および増稠剤の配合量は通常は潤滑基油100重
量部に対して増稠剤３〜30重量部、好ましくは５
〜15重量部である。 本発明の汎用グリース組成物は原則的に上記潤
滑油基油および増稠剤よりなるが、必要に応じて
酸化防止剤、金属不活性化剤、防錆性、極圧剤、
固体潤滑剤などを配合することができる。ここで
酸化防止剤としては２，６−ジターシヤリーブチ
ルパラメチルフエノール（DBPC）、フエニル−
α−ナフチルアミンなどを挙げることができ、金
属不活性化剤としてはベンゾトリアゾール、防錆
剤としてはバリウムスルフオネート、ソルビタン
モノオレート、極圧剤としては硫化油脂、ジチオ
リン酸鉛、固体潤滑剤としてはグラフアイト、二
硫化モリブデンなどを挙げることができる。 本発明の汎用グリース組成物は様々の方法によ
り製造することができる。例えば12−ヒドロキシ
ステアリン酸リチウムグリースの場合は潤滑油基
油の使用量の20〜30重量％に増稠剤を加える。こ
の場合、増稠剤としては、金属セツケンを直接加
えても良いが、通常は脂肪酸、樹脂酸等あるいは
その誘導体に金属化合物を加えてケン化して作ら
れる。その後、180〜210℃、好ましくは190〜200
℃の温度で昇温して脱水し増稠剤を溶解せしめ
る。さらに、徐々に180〜170℃の温度まで冷却す
る。次いで、残りの潤滑油基油を加えて急冷す
る。添加剤等を添加する場合は、グリース組成物
の温度を100℃以下にして加えると良い。次いで、
ミリング、脱泡処理等を行ない本発明の汎用グリ
ース組成物を得る。 本発明の汎用グリース組成物は高温および低温
の双方の温度領域におけるJIS規格を同時に満た
すものある。すなわち、高温における蒸発量が少
なく、また低温におけるトルクも小さく、蒸発損
失の少ない汎用グリース組成物である。したがつ
て、種々の機器、用途に広く用いることができ、
また広い温度範囲での使用に好適である。さら
に、きめ細いバター状であり外観も良好である。 次に、本発明を実施例により説明する。 実施例１、２、４および比較例１、２、４ 第１表に示す潤滑油基油の30重量％に第１表に
示す配合量となるように12−ヒドロキシステアリ
ン酸と水酸化リチウムを加え、撹拌した。その
後、194℃まで加熱し、得られたグリースを徐々
に冷却し、170℃になつたとき残りの潤滑油基油
を添加して急速に100℃以下に冷却した。さらに、
第１表に示す添加剤を加え、均一に混合した後、
ミリング、脱泡を行なつて汎用グリース組成物を
得た。このグリース組成物についての試験結果を
第１表に示した。 なお、潤滑油基油の性状につき第２表に示す。 実施例３および比較例３ 実施例１、２、４および比較例１、２、４にお
いて、金属セツケンの成分として水酸化カルシウ
ム、ステアリン酸、酢酸および水添パーム油を第
１表に示す配合量用いたこと以外は、同様に行な
い汎用グリース組成物を得た。このグリース組成
物についての試験結果を第１表に示す。

Claims (1)

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. １ 流動点が−35℃以下、40℃における動粘度が
    ５〜50センチストークスであり、かつナフテン系
    炭化水素およびパラフイン系炭化水素の合計量が
    95重量％以上である深冷脱ロウ基油を50重量％以
    上の割合で含有する潤滑油基油100重量部に対し、
    金属セツケン、尿素系増稠剤、ベントン系増稠剤
    およびシリコーン系増稠剤から選ばれた１種以上
    の増稠剤３〜30重量部を配合してなる汎用グリー
    ス組成物。
