Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 産業上の利用分野 本発明は、コンビーータの出力用端末等に用いる熱転写
式プリンタに関するものである。
従来例の構成とその問題点 従来、熱転写式プリンタは、サーマルヘッドによってイ
ンクフィルムに塗布されたインクを熱溶融し、印字する
方式が一般的である。この方式ではサーマルヘッドの熱
特性及び発熱抵抗素子の保護の関係から印加パルス周期
を２ｍ５ｅＣ以上短くできないという欠点がある。この
欠点の為、サーマルヘッド方式の熱転写式プリンタは印
字速度が遅いという大きな問題点がある。
発明の目的 本発明は、半導体レーザを使用してインクフィルムに塗
布されたインクを溶融することＩでよって従来の印加パ
ルス周期を２ｍ５ｅＣ以上短くできないという欠点欠吟
去し、高速印字・高印字品質の熱転写式プリンタを提供
するものである。
発明の構成 本発明の熱転写式プリンタは、インクフィルムに塗布さ
れたインクを半導体レーザのエネルギーにより溶融させ
普通紙に転写するものである。半導体レーザの使用によ
り高速印字が可能であり、また光学系の副部により解像
度を著しく向上することが可能である。
実施例の説明 以下、本発明の一実施例を添付図面と共に説明する。第
１図は、高速タイプの熱転写式プリンタの斜視図である
。半導体レーザ１より出力されたレーザビームは、回転
多面鏡２によってスキャンニングされ、インクフィルム
３上に照射される。
レーザビームは、印字データにより半導体レーザから出
力される時点で変調される。こうしてインクフィルム３
にあたったレーザビームは、その部分のインクを溶融し
普通用紙４に転写する。
第２図は、中速タイプの熱転写式プリンタの斜視図であ
る。半導体レーザ１より出力されたレーザビームは、光
偏向器５によって１行中にふられる。横方向へのスキャ
ンニングはこの実施例ではキャリッジ６の往復運動によ
っておこなわれる。
レーザビームは、前記実施例と同様に印字データにより
半導体レーザ１から出力される時点で変調される。こう
してインクフィルム３にあたったレーザビームは、その
部分のインクを溶融し普通紙４に転写する。
発明の効果 以上のように本発明は、半導体レーザの使用により、熱
転写式プリンタにおける印字速度の問題を解消し、発熱
抵抗素子を使用したサーマルヘッドでは不可能な画素径
を実現でき、印字品質の向上に大いに役立つものである
。
