Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 本発明はル−キ等に用いる摩擦材の製造方法に関する。
従来摩擦材には種々な用途があり、特性として熱1ム導
率の高いもの、耐熱性の大きいもの、成る稈麿潤滑性を
有゛するもの、耐摩耗性の^いもの等多種類の材質が提
案されているが、本発明は特に摩擦係数の大きく耐摩耗
性の高いものを得るために提案されたものである。
本発明は磁性材粉末もしくは他の混合物を加えた磁性材
粉末に結合剤樹脂を混合し混練して圧縮成形するとか加
熱して焼結成形することにより製造する場合に、成形時
に磁界を加えて材料に異り性をもたせるように成形して
摩擦係数の増大効果を得るようにしたものである。
前記磁性材混合物としては、鉄、酸化鉄(Fe a O
s等)、硫酸バリウム、酸化亜鉛、m化珪素、炭酸カル
シウム、アルミナ、銅、アルミニウム、鉛、グラファイ
ト、二硫化モリブデン、アスベスト、その他が用いられ
、結合剤樹脂としくメラミン樹脂、ポリイミド、シリコ
ン、ポ・ジノ1ニレンオキサイド、ナイロン、ポリアセ
タール。
フェノール、四弗化エチレン、その他が用いられる。こ
れらの混合物の成形時に加える磁界は静磁界でもよいが
場合によっては変化磁界を作用させる。磁界強噴は1 
、 Goo〜5,0OOG PIIFmを利用りる。
磁性材粉末、または他の混合物を加えた磁性材粉末と合
成樹脂との混合物は練機、エクストルダ等を用いてよく
混練し、磁性粒子が充分均一に混合分布した状態とし金
型に射出して成形するが、金型に永久磁石もしくはコイ
ルを設けておき磁界を信用さゼながら成形する。成形体
中の磁性粒は磁界7J向の整揃、異方性の処理が行われ
、オリエン−7−シ」ンが制御された状態で成形され冷
却固(すされる。
次に実施例を説明する。樹ILLiに四弗化エチレン4
用い体積化で60%のFe2O3と3%グラファ(1−
を混合し、処理時間12Hで固化成形するとき、本発明
により磁界強度2,0OOGを成形時に作用したbのと
、作用しないものとの摩擦材の特性は次表の通りであっ
た。
なお、本発明の引張り強さは作用磁界と平行方向に作用
させた場合であり、摩擦係数は作用磁界と直角向の係数
である。
以lのように本発明によれば、磁性材粉末、その他の混
合物粉末と合成樹脂との混合、及び混練により充分均一
に分散し、且つ混合成形時に強磁界を作用させて磁性粒
のオリエンテーションを制御し材料に異方性を持させる
ようにしたから、同質材で摩擦係数を増加させることが
でき、これとともに分散強化等により引張り強度、耐摩
耗性等の機械的強度も改善することができる効果が御ら
れる。
また他にも金属性摩擦材について多種の実験を行ったが
、磁界中成形によって材料の透磁率μを制御するように
したとき、μの変化と材料の摩擦率の変化とは関連性が
あり、例えばある材料においてμが1.8倍高くなった
とき摩擦Iは約115に低下することも確認され、磁界
作用による効果は顕著である。
