Description
【発明の詳細な説明】
本発明はシアニン系色素薄膜を有するレーザ記録媒体に
関する。さらに詳しくは、レーザビームによシ直接記碌
し反射光の変化によって情報再生を行う方法(いわゆる
光ディスク)K用いられるレーザ記録媒体に関する。

従来、色素薄膜を記録層として適用した光学的メモリ媒
体は知られている(例えば、特開昭5616948号公
報)。すなわち、この種の光学的メモリ媒体は基板と色
素薄膜記録層との間に金属反射膜を設け、記録層の側か
ら記録層の光吸収率が極大を示す波長のレーザビームを
集光照射して情報を記録再生するものである。しかしな
がら、かかるメモリ媒体においては色素記録層の保饅が
困難であるため記録層に付着した小ゴミなど罠よって情
報の記録再生j(誤沙を生じやすいことおよび、反射型
光学メモリ媒体として利用するためKは金属反射膜が必
要で高松媒体の構成が複雑になるという問題がある。

して、記録層としてシアニン系色素単層膜を使用しかつ
記録層の保護が容易にできるように透明基板側より記録
および再生用レーザ光を照射して情報の記録および再生
が可能な反射型光学的メモリ媒体を先虻提案した。

録媒体として十分満足のいくものではなかった。そこで

上できることを知見し本発明の完成に至った。

酢酸ヒニル樹脂、アクリル樹脂、メタクリル樹脂、ポリ
エステル樹脂、ニトロセルロース、ポリエチレン樹脂、
、eリプロピレン樹脂、ポリアミド樹脂、ポリスチレン
樹脂、ポリカーボネート樹脂、エポキシ樹脂などがあげ
られるが、アクリル樹脂が特に好ましい。

本発明のレーザ記録媒体に適用されるレーザ光は使用色
素の吸収波長に応じて選択する必要があるが比較的安価
なHe−Nθレーザまたは半導体レーザが好ましい。

本発明におけるシアニン色素薄膜は一般忙プラスチック
基板上にシアニン色素溶液を1000A以下の厚さで塗
布(回転塗布機などを用いて)し乾燥することによって
容易に形成することができる。

次に、本発明のレーザ記録媒体の構成および情報の記録
再生法を添付図面について説明すると、第1図に示すよ
うに色素膜1I11はプラスチック基板2の上に形成さ
れレーザ記録媒体3を構成する。また、図示のように同
一構成の2枚の記録媒体3.3を色素薄膜同志を対向し
て配置することKよシ色素薄膜1は外気と遮断され、ゴ
ミの付着、キズの発生、有害カスとの接触から保護でき
るため保存性は著しく向上する。この際、色素膜IP1
はプラスチック基板2によって保慢されるので記録情報
が物理的化学的作用杷よって損われることがないうレー
ザビーム4は集光レンズ5によって集光され基板2を通
して照射され、光吸収反射性の色素膜1を除去、分解す
ることKより記録が行なわれる。情報の再生は色素膜1
の有無によって生ずる反射光の差を検出することによっ
て行なわれる。反射光の検出にはプラスチック基板2を
通して行なうことが実用上都合がよい。

以下に比較例と共に実施例を掲げて本発明をさらに説明
するが、これに限定されるものではない。実施例および
比較例忙おいては以下の構造式で表わされるシアニン色
素の中から以下の表に示すものを選択使用してその結果
を検討した。

録定のシアニン色素をジクロルメタ/に溶解しこの溶液
を回転塗布機によって所定の基板(厚さ11Il)上に
約300Xの厚さで塗布し乾燥することによって作製し
た。シアニン色素は日本感光色素研究所のものを用い、
He −N・レーザの波長633nmから半導体レーザ
の波長30(lnmK吸収のある色素を選んだ。射光寿
命は戸外の1Aoの照射光を受ける場所に保存されたと
きの値で示し℃あシ、光学濃度が初期値の80−まで低
下するに要した時間であられした。
録定のシアニン色素をジクロルメタ/に溶解しこの溶液
を回転塗布機によって所定の基板(厚さ11Il)上に
約300Xの厚さで塗布し乾燥することによって作製し
た。シアニン色素は日本感光色素研究所のものを用い、

射光テストには54000ルツクスのタングステン光を
35±3℃の条件で照射する促進試験方法を用いた。そ

ザの波長を照射したところ、強い吸収と反射を示し反射
型の書込読出の可能な光デイスク媒体として適している
ことがわかった。また、本発明の記録媒体KO,5MH
2のキャリヤ信号とじ3 mW f) He−Neレー
ザを1.6μmJ/(集光照射で記録し再生信号をスR
クトラムアナライザで測定したところスキャンニングフ
ィルターのバンド@ 30 KHzの条件におけるC/
Nが55dBであった。一方従来から知られている記録
媒体であるTeを1■厚のアクリル板に300Xの厚さ
で蒸着したもの忙同−条件で記録し再生したところC/
′Nが45dBであった。なお記録再生にはアクリル基
板からレーザビームな照射し念。

は以下の効果を奏する。
