Abstract

PURPOSE: To enhance the specular gloss and corrosion resistance by using carbide of Cr, Mo, W, V or Ta and nitride of Ti, Zr or Nb as principal components and adding a prescribed amount of an Ni-Al alloy to an Fe group metal as a binder by substitution.
CONSTITUTION: Powders consisting of 2W40wt% binder contg. an Ni-Al alloy substituted for 5W60wt% of one or more among Fe, Ni and Co, 1W50wt% carbide of one or more among Cr, Mo, W, V and Ta, and the balance nitride of one or more among Ti, Zr and Nb are mixed. This mixture is compression- molded and sintered in a vacuum. The resulting alloy assumes a golden color, maintains the specular gloss over a long time, and has superior corrosion resistance.
