Abstract

PURPOSE: To change a color tone to lemonlike golden color inexpensively by developing a compound phase due to the shortage of a carbon content in an alloy texture in case of preparing a decorative parts such as a watch case or the like from a TiN base hard sintered alloy having orangelike golden color.
CONSTITUTION: A powder such as WC, NbC or VC and, as a binding material, such as Co, Mo, Cr or Ni is mixed into a substance based on a hard TiN component and sintered to prepare decorative parts such as a watch case or the like. In this case, in order to form a carbon shortage condition within the texture of said parts, a powder of TiH2 is compounded in an amount of 5W6%. Because the hydrogen of TiH2 is released during sintering and produced Ti absorbs free carbon, a TiC phase is formed after sintering. The color tone thereof is lemon like golden color as well as the hardness thereof is high and decorative parts made therefrom are prevented from being scratched and corroded by sweat. Moreover, because TaC is not used, the cost thereof is low.
