Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a case holding a peculiar color tone and having high toughness and corrosion resistance by increasing the amount of an iron group metal mixed into metal carbide, nitride, boride, silicide or oxide in an alloy composition within a range where the desired hardness is maintained.
CONSTITUTION: This wrist watch case is made of sintered body consisting of 70W 5wt% one or more among metal carbides such as WC, TaC, TiC, NbC, Cr3C2 and Mo2C, metal nitrides, borides and oxides and 30W95% Ni, Co or other Fe group metal as a binder. This case holds a color tone peculiar to the hard metal and has superior toughness, high corrosion resistance and high workability.
